ReinventAbility, the organization that engages and entertains while contributing to a more universally accessible future, announces the inaugural DisFest, a free celebration of accomplished artists and performers with disabilities, Saturday, July 22, from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Chicago Cultural Center.

In July ACTORS' READING COLLECTIVE (ARC) is presenting two premiere play readings on July 10th and July 31st at Marin Shakespeare Company. Both readings begin at 7 pm.  

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that the death of stage and screen actor Julian Sands has been confirmed. He had been missing since mid-January of this year.

The Cleveland Orchestra announced updates to musician personnel with five new members and one member to a first assistant principal position. Earlier this year, Charles Paul, a bass section member since 2022, was appointed first assistant principal bass.

At a press conference held at Meridian Hall, the Toronto Alliance for the  Performing Arts (TAPA) announced 228 nominations for the 43rd Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, which recognize excellence in professional theatre, dance and opera in Toronto for the 2022-2023 season. Also announced at the press conference was the recipient of the Province of Ontario’s Pauline McGibbon Award.

In many ways, Wilbur Burton Foshay was the poster child for the twenties and thirties. During the Roaring Twenties, he was an ambitious and successful businessman who capitalized on a decade's long bull-run stock market to catapult himself to greater and greater financial heights.
