The Theatre World Awards will celebrate the 2019 Theatre World Award Honorees, the 7th Annual John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement in Theatre Honoree Nathan Lane, and the 11th Annual Dorothy Loudon Award Honoree Hampton Fluker at the landmark 75th Annual Theatre World Awards Ceremony on Monday, June 3, 2019 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52nd Street), home of the sensational Broadway hit, The Cher Show.

CBS Renews Six More Dramas and Two News Programs For 2019-2020

CBS announced today that it has renewed six more drama series and two news programs for the 2019-2020 broadcast season. SEAL TEAM, S.W.A.T., MADAM SECRETARY, BULL, HAWAII FIVE-0 and MACGYVER will return to the CBS lineup next season, along with longstanding primetime news shows 60 MINUTES and 48 HOURS. With these pickups, CBS has now renewed 18 series for next year.

Amy Marcs' critically-acclaimed solo comedy gets 'reconstructed' in a special celebrity reading as her roller coaster tale is joined by familiar faces from Broadway & Television including: Geneva Carr (Bull, Hand to God), Laura Kai Chen (HER, Days of Our Lives), Leigh Ann Larken (Gypsy, Blue Bloods), and Elena Ricardo (Beautiful, Mamma Mia). A portion of the proceeds will go to The Actors Fund.

MCC Theater's return of the critically acclaimed, sold out, extended, award-winning play School Girls; or, the African Mean Girls Play, written by 2017-18 Tow Playwright-in-Residence Jocelyn Bioh, and directed by Tony Winner Rebecca Taichman opened last night, October 22nd. The encore production will be performed at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street) from October 16th through November 25th.

Miranda Theatre Company Announces Pop Up Productions

The Miranda Theatre Company, a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and production of new plays, announces Pop-Up Productions - an innovative new theatregoing experience. Debuting this fall, the new format will offer a disruption from traditional seasonal programming with a variety of limited engagement productions at venues throughout New York City. Each Pop-Up Production will be announced six weeks in advance or sooner with simultaneous online ticket sales at a set ticket price of $25 (and some at no cost at all). Audiences will be treated to a free drink and/or edible delight while experiencing an array of new work by fresh artists pushing the live performance model. As the landscape of Off-Broadway changes, Miranda takes on the industry with a fresh idea, ushering in a new age of Off-Broadway theater.
