Sierra Madre Playhouse is beginning our return to live performances with a series of one-person shows that we're calling the Sierra Madre Playhouse Solo Shows Festival.

Open-Door Playhouse will present Stay Awhile, an audio play written by Dana Hall and directed by Gary Lamb. The play will premiere on Wednesday, September 8 on the Open-Door Playhouse Podcast, www.opendoorplayhouse.org.

Sierra Madre Playhouse is gearing up to resume productions of live, fully mounted shows. The first of these offerings will be the classic musical You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, which the Playhouse is co-presenting with the City of Sierra Madre in an outdoor, socially distanced presentation in Sierra Madre Memorial Park.

The Directors Lab West Steering Committee is pleased to announce the 21st annual Directors Lab West, once again in partnership with the Pasadena Playhouse, Artistic Director Danny Feldman, and Boston Court Pasadena, Artistic Director Jessica Kubzansky, both contributing to host this eight-day theater intensive conference.

Crown City Theatre Company (William A. Reilly and Gary Lamb, Artistic Directors) has announced a new production of The Legend of Georgia McBride by Matthew Lopez, directed and choreographed by Michael J. Marchak. The show will play two preview performances on Friday, November 22, and Saturday, November 23, at 8pm and is set to open on Sunday, November 24, at 3pm. The engagement will run through February 9, 2020.

William A. Reilly has been co-producer/ co-artistic director of Crown City Theatre going on 22 years. Crown has been located at St. Matthew's Church in NoHo for almost 12 years. April 1 the company must leave, as St Matthew's has received a grant to make the spaces a homeless shelter. Reilly sat down recently and talked about what the group will do as they look to the future. Close local spaces are being investigated as rentals until a new permanent space is relegated.

This is an original play by Los Angeles playwright and actor, Greg White. The production is partly sponsored by the City of Pasadena Cultural Affairs Department. It begins the second season in their new home in Pasadena.

A group of strangers is stranded in a boarding house during a snow storm, one of whom is a murderer. Suspects include the newly married couple who run the house, a spinster with a curious background, an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef, a retired Army major, a strange little man who claims his car has overturned in a drift, and a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone. Into their midst comes a policeman, traveling on skis. He probes the background of everyone present, and rattles a lot of skeletons. 

2Cents Theatre Group's popular 3-day festival of female playwrights is back for year FIVE! We are once again gathering around 100 artists for this one-of-a-kind event, from playwrights to directors to actors and street artists, to celebrate the FEMALE PLAYWRIGHT and ART! The Fest will take place March 9-11 at the Hudson Theatres in Hollywood, right in the heart of Theatre Row and the Los Angeles 99-seat community.
