Talent development and diverse voices are at the heart of the season as Macrobert showcases leading young Scottish theatre-makers Debbie Hannan & Uma Nada-Rajah, brings light to growing talent Brido Hingwy, presents Indian American theatre artist Priyanka Shetty in her first UK tour and exhibits emerging illustrators alongside the artwork of local children.

Last night, the performance of the acclaimed Off-Broadway musical Islander at Playhouse 46 at St. Luke’s ended with a surprise for understudy Mia Munn. Following the curtain call of the show, Associate and Resident Director Victor Lirio appeared on stage for the presentation.

The season also includes a long-awaited return of such critically acclaimed shows as Antigone, Interrupted which will see Scottish Dance Theatre touring for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, and TuTuMucky, a smash hit from Botis Seva blending hip hop, ballet and contemporary dance.

The full line-up of arts and cultural events has been revealed for Hope Mill Theatre’s three-week festival, HOPE FEST, which runs in Ancoats, Manchester from 16th July – 8th August.
