Milwaukee Repertory Theater presents Eclipsed written by Black Panther and 'Walking Dead' star Danai Gurira in the Quadracci Powerhouse, March 3 - 29, 2020.

After a strong critical & audience response, Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciarán O'Reilly, Producing Director) announced today a one-week extension for Lady G: Plays and Whisperings of Lady Gregory. Lady G is written by Lady Augusta Gregory with additional material by Ciarán O'Reilly (Dublin Carol), and direction by O'Reilly. Originally set to close on March 22, 2020, Lady G will now play in the W. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre through March 29, 2020.

LAByrinth Theater Company (John Ortiz, Artistic Director; Aaron Roman Weiner, Associate Artistic Director) begins rehearsals today for its latest world premiere production, Bees and Honey. The intimate two-hander from Guadalís Del Carmen, about a pair of Dominican New Yorkers traversing love and loss, will play the Cherry Lane Theatre, where LAB is the Company in Residence, from March 27-April 25. Milwaukee Repertory Theater will honor 12 Milwaukee SHEroes during the run of Eclipsed, March 3 -29, 2020. A Milwaukee SHEro is a woman* of color who exemplifies the values of dedication to one's community, collaboration and sisterhood. Milwaukee Rep received over 100 nominations, which an outside selection committee including Milwaukee Rep employees and community members, picked the following 12 candidates honored as Milwaukee SHEroes. All 12 women are doing their part to better the Milwaukee community.

Casting is set for Studio Theatre's production of Pipeline, playwright Dominique Morisseau's searing drama about the school-to-prison pipeline and a mother desperately trying to keep her son from becoming ensnared in it. The production runs January 15-February 16, 2020 and is directed by Awoye Timpo. Starring are DC theatre favorite Justin Weaks (Studio's Curve of Departure) as high school student Omari and Andrea Harris Smith making her Studio debut as his mother, public school teacher Nya. In its recent People Issue, Washington City Paper's called Weaks a 'standout,' going on to say: 'D.C. theater audiences love Justin Weaks. ...Weaks came to D.C. for a job about four years ago, not expecting to stay. But he kept getting cast in shows, and lucky for local theatergoers, he's still here.'
