In its inaugural year, this special regional program highlights and awards excellence in Eastern Oklahoma high school musical theatre and will conclude with a one night only special showcase event Friday, May 24 at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. The best female performer selected and the best male performer selected will represent Oklahoma in New York City at the Jimmy Awards, otherwise known as The National High School Musical Theatre Awards in June 2019. A special performance Celebrating Cole Porter - YOU'VE GOT THAT THING will be presented at The Triad Theatre (158 West 72nd Street - off Broadway between Broadway & Columbus Ave) on Saturday, March 30th at 9:30 pm. The production celebrates the life of musical prodigy, Cole Porter, with those who knew him best: his muse Ethel Merman (Analisa Bell), his wife Linda (Alexandra Foley) and Edward, a young writer who embodies the essence of all his male lovers (Quinn Martin). Featuring classics like Anything Goes, Let's Do It, Let's Fall In Love, Night and Day, and, of course, You've Got that Thing!. This delightful show has humor, pathos, and of course those glorious songs. Tickets are $20 and there is a two drink minimun and a small facility fee. Premium packages are also available. (more...)

Broadway Sessions recently held its 3rd annual Black History Month celebration. We invited an all star roster of Broadway talent to share songs and stories reflecting the influence, impact and legacy of black artists on Broadway and beyond. HOLY MOLY! This was one of the most incredible nights of music we have enjoyed. Beyond that it was moving, hilarious and profound. Enjoy these highlights from Broadway vets Antoine  L Smith, Soarer-Joye Ross, Storm Lever, Brennyn Lark, Judith Franklin, Phoenix Best, Elijah Ahmad Lewis, Tiana Okoye, Michel Demby Cain, Imari Hardon, Avery Smith, Nick Rashad Burroughs, Quentin Earl Darrington, Jennie Harney Fleming, John Edwards, Laurissa 'Lala' Romain, Shonica Gooden and Emme Kemp. We also enjoyed performances from 'Rising Stars' Richard Baskin Jr. and Aneesa Folds. OH, and maybe just an impromptu pre show performance by Tony-winning legend FAITH PRINCE! It was a good night.
