LAUNCH PAD alumni playwrights have rallied to provide new material for UCSB's Department of Theater and Dance students. In an overwhelming response to an invitation from LAUNCH PAD Artistic Director Risa Brainin and Professor Annie Torsiglieri, 24 playwrights have written monologues and short plays inspired by the prompt a?oeAlone, Togethera?? and tailored specifically for the Zoom platform.

Stage and screen actress Enid Graham will enjoy the first full production of one of her own plays when What Martha Did is presented in the Performing Arts Theater at UC Santa Barbara on November 15-24. What Martha Did is the 15th Preview Production to come out of LAUNCH PAD, UCSB's innovative laboratory for playwrights-in-residence, where the writer is included in all aspects of the production, from design and casting to rehearsals and marketing.

The Public Theater announced casting today for CORIOLANUS, the second show of The Public's 2019 Free Shakespeare in the Park season. Directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan, the war-torn tragedy seen for the first time in 40 years, begins performances on Tuesday, July 16 and runs through Sunday, August 11, with an official press opening on Monday, August 5.

Breaking Glass Pictures has acquired Worldwide rights to the supernatural mystery/thriller BEYOND THE NIGHT,¬†the directorial debut from writer/director Jason Noto (‚ÄúAddiction: A 60's Love Story‚ÄĚ). Breaking Glass acquired rights to the film in a deal negotiated between Breaking Glass CEO Rich Wolff, and producer Robin¬†Garvick on behalf of NewAley Pictures,¬†Summerhawk Films, and Reckless Productions.The film will open theatrically in Los Angeles in early January, followed by a DVD & VOD release in the first quarter of 2019.¬†
