Latino Public Broadcasting (LPB) today announced that Season 5 of VOCES, the acclaimed PBS documentary series exploring Latino arts, culture and history, will premiere on four consecutive Fridays, September 13-October 4, 2019 (check local listings) on PBS, pbs.org and the PBS Video app. VOCES is presented by PBS SoCal.

On August 2nd, Ropeadope will release the soundtrack for Windows On The World, a new film written by Robert Mailer Anderson and directed by Michael D. Olmos. The album is an expansive mix of genres ranging from americana to R&B, electronic, a spoken word track from Abiodun Oyewole (The Last Poets) and original jazz music from members of the SFJAZZ Collective including Eric Harland, David Sanchez, Edward Simon, Obed Calvaire, Robin Eubanks, Matt Penman, along with Taylor Eigsti and Ethan Iverson (The Bad Plus).

Disney Television Studios including Twentieth Century Fox Television, ABC Studios and Fox 21 Television Studios takes over the San Diego Comic-Con convention with stars and creators of 14 of its fan-favorite shows descending on the world-famous gathering next month. In addition to exclusive sneak peeks of its programs and panel discussions with the casts and creators, the studio will rotate producers and stars through the ABC and 20th Century Fox Television booths on the convention center floor for autograph signings and activities, including distribution of exclusive 2019 poster tubes, collectible mini-posters, premium giveaways and DVD sales. 

FX Networks is returning to San Diego Comic-Con in a big way again this summer with FXX's Emmy Award(R)-winning animated comedy Archer, the breakout FX comedy What We Do in the Shadows and the hit FX drama Mayans M.C.

Orange County's oldest professional Shakespeare company (originally founded as The Grove Shakespeare Festival by Thomas F. Bradac 40 years ago), moves from the Garden Grove Amphitheater onto the SAC campus, and continues its community-driven mission under Artistic Director John Walcutt in three theaters at SAC.

George Lopez's multi-faceted career encompasses television, film, standup comedy, and late-night television. Lopez is currently on his stand up comedy tour, The Wall World Tour, in arenas across the country. He also recently completed his standup comedy tour, The Comedy Get Down, with Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley, and Cedric the Entertainer. The comedians also debuted their BET scripted comedy series based on their tour.

Hilarious and ground-breaking star of TV, movies, and stand-up comedy GEORGE LOPEZ brings The Wall World Tour to the Majestic Theatre (224 E. Houston St.) in San Antonio, TX for four performances on August 9th and 10th, 7:30PM and 9PM. Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 31 at 10AM.

March 23, 2019 Based in New York, Ballet Hispanico is not just a Spanish-oriented or Flamenco Dance Company.  It covers many disciplined forms of dance, fusing them together and is both meticulous and marvelous at doing it.  Founded in 1970, they are an established and recognized dance entity.  They are recognized internationally for their diverse repertoire, utilizing strong ballet and contemporary influences along with Latin and Flamenco styles. All the company members are well-trained and seasoned dancers and performers who's every move be it solo or as a unit is perfectly placed and technically correct. There is also a strength and passion to their movements that gives that extra depth and texture which is transmitted to the viewers.  So that they are not just dancing the steps, or going through the motions, they are feeling the movements and intention from within.  

The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents Ballet Hispánico (Eduardo Vilaro, Artistic Director & CEO) on March 22 and 23 at 7:30pm.  As America's leading Latino dance organization, Ballet Hispánico has been bringing individuals and communities together to celebrate and explore Latino cultures through dance for nearly 50 years. Ballet Hispánico will present its All-Latina Choreographers Program featuring Línea Recta, choreographed by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa; Con Brazos Abiertos, choreographed by Michelle Manzanales; and 3. Catorce Dieciséis, choreographed by Tania Pérez-Salas.

Actor, producer, director Yancey Arias had his first experience in entertainment at the age of twelve when his grandmother threw him on stage to sing a song for a  neighborhood talent show at Henry Street Settlement in downtown Manhattan. Yancey was discovered by Professor James Green at Saint John's Prep High School in Astoria, Queens, New York. Green then introduced Yancey to Stage Door Manor in Loch Sheldrake, New York, where he studied theater under Jack Romano every summer, and in winter with fellow actors Vincent Laresca, Christian J. Meoli, and Josh Charles.

The Sol Project (Jacob G. Padron, Artistic Director), the national theater initiative dedicated to amplifying Latinx voices and building a body of work for the new American theater, is proud to announce that founding member and artistic producer David Mendizabal will become the Associate Artistic Director, beginning immediately. The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra announced the November 9 release of its latest album, American Originals: 1918, under the direction of Pops Conductor John Morris Russell. The recording is inspired by America's cultural awakening at the end of the First World War one hundred years ago and the distinctly American musical styles that reflect the country's diversity. This album celebrates and reimagines popular songs of this era that remain fresh and relevant today with acclaimed musical collaborators including Rhiannon Giddens, Steep Canyon Rangers and Pokey LaFarge. The 95th Cincinnati Pops album was recorded live at Cincinnati Music Hall November 10- 12, 2017, and is being released on the Orchestra's label, Fanfare Cincinnati.

The BBC has entered a creative partnership with FX Networks, with the BBC securing the rights to all new scripted (comedy and drama) FX original series, it was announced today by Charlotte Moore, Director, BBC Content and Gina Brogi, President of Global Distribution, Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution. The deal was negotiated with the BBC by Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution on behalf of FX Networks.
