Which Shows Have Been Revived the Most in the 21st Century?

Three of this season’s plays and two of this season’s musicals are already getting revived for the second or third time this century! Twenty-five years into the 21st century and Broadway has already seen multiple revivals of Glengarry Glen Ross, Our Town, Romeo and Juliet, Gypsy, and Sunset Boulevard.

Review: FAT HAM at Riffe Center Studio One

Ijames reinvented the Shakespearean tragedy into something far more accessible for modern-day audiences. Instead of a dark tale of murder and revenge set in a dreary Denmark castle, Ijames brilliantly updates it into a backyard barbeque, replete with a karaoke machine, a gas grill, and a game of charades.

Review: CYRANO, Park Theatre

Virginia Gay's Cyrano is billed as 'after Edmond Rostand' and is far more than a faithful adaptation of the classic tragic tale of doomed romance. In reimagining the play, Gay finds an interesting central role for herself as the overlooked and lovesick Cyrano, wishing for more from her friendship with the bubbly Roxanne, and finding a facade of words to hide the hurt she feels at comments about her ugly looks.

Previews: CYRANO DE BERGERAC al TEATRO COMETA OFF

Cast Set For CYRANO at Park Theatre

Cyrano, the critically acclaimed and joyous gender-flipped retelling of Cyrano de Bergerac will transfer to Park Theatre, London from 11 December 2024- 11 January 2025 following the sold-out European premiere run at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh this summer.

Quintessence Theatre Extends Martin Crimp's CYRANO DE BERGERAC

Quintessence Theatre just announced it is adding five more performances of Martin Crimp’s diabolically hilarious and heartbreaking adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac, starring Philadelphia’s J Hernandez in the titular role.

Review: CYRANO DE BERGERAC at Pasadena Playhouse

Martin Crimp’s free adaptation – first staged in 2019 with James McAvoy in the title role -  is as urgent and beguiling as it is contemporary, a classic with a fiery heart and not an inch of dustiness or quaintness. In the revival directed by Mike Donahue at the Pasadena Playhouse, CYRANO bursts with energy and excitement.
