BroadwayWorld has just learned that The Cher Show will begin recording a cast album this weekend. A release date has not yet been announced.

The Cher Show is heating up the stage in these winter months bringing the story of one of music's biggest icons to life nightly. Now the diva reveals she's got even more in the works as she looks back at her epic career. Get ready to read the story of her life, then catch it on the big screen!

Just last night, New York Stage and Film held its annual Winter Gala, featuring performances and appearances by Tony Award nominee and Pulitzer Prize finalist Jon Robin Baitz, Tony Award nominee Santino Fontana, David Forman, Tony Award winner John Gallagher Jr, Grammy Award nominee Rob Hyman, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Mozhan Marno, Bonnie Milligan, Manu Narayan, Josh Radnor, Dee Roscioli, Academy Award and Tony Award winner John Patrick Shanley, Grammy Award and Tony Award winner Duncan Sheik, and Obie Award winner Lucy Thurber. Brian Usifer served as Musical Director.

While the superstar does not appear in the show herself, she has been known to take on a showtune or two in the past. Additional guest performers include Ariana Grande, Adam Lambert, Ledisi, Pentatonix and the current Broadway company of 'Wicked.' 'A Very Wicked Halloween' airs tonight, October 29th at 10PM ET/PT on NBC.

The Cher Show cancelled its final performance in Chicago, which was set for today, July 15, due to a technical issue. The issue was announced to the audience shortly after the show was set to begin. A mini concert was performed in lieu of the full production, including 4 songs.

The Cher Show took its opening night bows in Chicago last night, June 28. Let's see what the critics are saying...
