Viewers who remember and were affected by THE LARAMIE PROJECT will see parallels in HERE THERE ARE BLUEBERRIES, a beautiful and no-less-significant new play written by Kaufman and Amanda Gronich, co-produced by the Tectonic Theater Project and directed by Kaufman at the La Jolla Playhouse.

 La Jolla Playhouse has announced the cast and creative team for its world-premiere production of Here There Are Blueberries, by Tony Award nominee Moisés Kaufman (Playhouse’s 33 Variations) and Amanda Gronich, conceived and directed by Moisés Kaufman.

Due to a positive COVID-19 test result in the company and out of an abundance of caution, tonight’s performance of Coal Country at the Cherry Lane Theatre has been cancelled. Performances are expected to resume tomorrow, Saturday, March 26, at the matinee.

I found myself with an overwhelming sense that what I was watching play out could easily have been an episode of television’s Law and Order or perhaps, more appropriately, the Broadway production of EQUUS from the 1970s. 

In BOCA, we follow a group of retirees who, between rounds of golf, bridge and Botox, can be found bickering, gossiping and living it up like they’re teenagers all over again. Don’t worry, Sophia, this is NOT Shady Pines. The residents of the Royal Palm Polo Club, a gated community that offers Kundalini Yoga classes even if it gives some of them gas. These are quite a lively bunch, and these kids know how to party.

Ever in demand, Neil has shared this creative talents in venues all over the world, including those in Mumbai, Tokyo, London and Venice.
