The nonprofit Sundance Institute announced today the showcase of new independent feature films selected across all categories for the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. The Festival hosts screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City and at Sundance Mountain Resort, from January 23a?"February 2, 2020. The Sundance Film Festival is Sundance Institute's flagship public program, widely regarded as the largest American independent film festival and attended by more than 120,000 people and 1,300 accredited press, and powered by more than 2,000 volunteers last year.

Emmy¬ģ and Golden Globe¬ģ winner Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife) and Golden Globe nominee Corey Stoll (House of Cards) have signed on to guest star in multiple episodes of the fifth season of the hit SHOWTIME drama series BILLIONS. Margulies will play Catherine Brant, an Ivy League sociology professor and bestselling author. Stoll joins in a season-long arc as Michael Prince, a business titan from a small town in Indiana. Starring Oscar¬ģ nominee and Emmy and Golden Globe winner Paul Giamatti, and Emmy and Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis, BILLIONS is currently in production in New York and will return to the network in 2020. BILLIONS averages 4.5 million viewers per week across platforms.

Today, the Evening Standard announces the 2019 shortlist for the 65th Evening Standard Theatre Awards in association with Michael Kors. Across nine award categories, the shortlist features the biggest names and emerging talents from the London stage over the last twelve months. Among the contenders are some strong commercial hits that have transferred or are about to move onto the West End or Broadway a?' including Betrayal, Death of a Salesman, Fiddler on the Roof, The Son and Sweat.

Further performers have been revealed for Park Theatre's World Premiere murder mystery Whodunnit [Unrehearsed], as Adam Hills, Jason Manford, Neil Morrissey, Clarke Peters and Sandi Toksvig - with the voice of Miriam Margolyes - join the stellar list of participants. Every night, a different guest performer will step onstage to join the rehearsed ensemble of a scripted murder mystery play, having attended no rehearsals, read no script, nor received any direction. Armed only with a hidden earpiece to receive instructions, they will endeavour to solve the crime in real time.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.
