What is great about H&S is that it shows some real promise; maybe not for the show itself, but for its writer/composer-lyricist Feldman who was wise enough to start with writing what he knows. Taking his own coming out experience and putting words and music to it in a story that, while nothing really new, still actually works as a story.

An autobiographical musical, Hide and Seek tells the story of Andrew, a high school student who realizes that he is gay. As he comes to terms with his newfound sexuality, he finds himself struggling to navigate his way through his relationship with friends, a former girlfriend, his new boyfriend, and his family. As he attempts to find his true self, Andrew learns more about living life authentically. Written by Danny Feldman at the age of sixteen, the evening will feature orchestrations by Eli Schildkraut and will be music directed by Luke Williams.

Today, the musical/visual project Kill the Whale: A Musical Odyssey has revealed the second musical series from the epic, entitled “Dusk.” Aptly released in the same year of Herman Melville's 200th birthday, the song introduces the character Starbuck, played by Courtney Bassett (The Great Comet). This high energy, 'sit on the edge of your seat' play is crafted written by Joni Nelson who has cleverly meshed a social commentary into rollicking great entertainment that you will enjoy and will make you think.
There are loads of laughs and surprises (who exactly is in the bathroom?) amongst the pathos and this story had me engrossed from the beginning to the end. A sign of a great play is when time flies. Time flew.
