Theatre Calgary's Artistic Director Stafford Arima (Allegiance, Broadway; Carrie, Off-Broadway revival; Altar Boyz, Off-Broadway), along with Solo Productions' Mary Young Leckie (Maudie, Mary's Wedding), have just announced the creative team and casting for The Louder We Get, based on the true story of Marc Hall, with book by Kent Staines, lyrics by Akiva Romer-Segal, and music by Colleen Dauncey.

Growing up, Matilda was both a book and movie that was well-loved in many households. The peculiarity of the Wormwood household, the magic of Matilda's powers, and the bone-shaking wrath of Miss Trunchbull was felt by readers and audiences near and far. This month, Arts Club brought Roald Dahl's classic tale to life with its production of MATILDA THE MUSICAL. Playing at the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage in Vancouver from May 16th to July 14th, Arts Club does not disappoint with this truly remarkable show.

The highly anticipated season-closer of Billy Elliot the Musical has been a long-time coming for Theatre Calgary. With the promise of an all-Calgarian cast and more musical showcasing from emerging artists, there was a lot of excitement leading up to opening night. I left the Max Bell Theatre with the same excitement for all the things to come from this incredible production.
MATILDA Arrives At The Citadel Theatre

Matilda The Musical is coming to Edmonton this month. The stage adaptation of Roald Dahl's beloved children's story is a delightful spectacle filled with music, magic, and maggots (or children, as they are more commonly known). After a sold-out run in Winnipeg, this co-production with Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre and Arts Club Theatre Company runs February 16 to March 17 in the Shoctor Theatre.

It's official, there's a new Anne in town. Artistic Director of Confederation Centre of the Arts, Adam Brazier announced today that Emma Rudy will take centre stage in the treasured Island musical this summer. Following an exhaustive casting search, Miss Rudy will become the 19th actor to play Anne Shirley in the celebrated history of Anne of Green Gables-The Musical at The Charlottetown Festival.
