Ross Petty's panto is back and better than ever! THE WIZARD OF OZ at the Elgin Theatre is a loose adaption of the classic story with a modern/environmentally-conscious twist. Ross Petty's panto has become a staple of the Toronto theatre community, entertaining generations of audiences for over 20 years. It's a communal performance experience unlike any other and a holiday tradition you can't miss.

In a tradition that started in 1978 with Frankie Avalon, Grease: The Musical announces its fifth special cameo appearance by Grammy-Award singer/songwriter Michelle Williams who will join the other celebrity teen idols: Mark Ballas, George Canyon, Logan Henderson and Drake Bell -- in the iconic role of 'Teen Angel'.

The Citadel's hit production Hadestown led all shows at the 31st annual Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award nominations. The ground-breaking musical, which received international attention from the New York Times, the Stage (U.K.), and the Globe and Mail, garnered a total of eight nominations, including the Timothy Ryan Award for Outstanding Production of a Musical. Tony Award nominee Rachel Chavkin received a nod for Outstanding Director for Hadestown, which she co-created with folk musician Anais Mitchell. Amber Gray is nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for her turn as Persephone in this musical, based on a Greek myth and steeped in the music traditions of American Folk and New Orleans jazz. Liam Robinson is nominated for Outstanding Musical Director, and David Neumann received recognition in the category of Outstanding Choreography or Fight Direction. Tony Award winner Bradley King is nominated for Outstanding Lighting Design. Rachel Hauck received a nomination for Outstanding Set Design and Michael Krass received a nod for Outstanding Costume Design.

Featuring the beloved music of pop culture icons, ABBA, the story of a daughter trying to figure out who her father is before she weds will warm your heart and have you dancing in the aisles. On stage now at the Elgin Theatre, holiday hilarity will ensue for two additional performances on Thursday, January 4 at 7pm and Friday, January 5 at 2pm.

Theatre Calgary's new artistic director Stafford Arima has officially announced the cast for The Secret Garden, which will close out its 50th Anniversary season. To be directed by Arima, The Secret Garden will feature some notable names in Canadian musical theatre, along with a large number of Calgary artists, who will bring this beloved tale to life.

Irregular Entertainment producers David Galpern and Charles Roy, announced today that they are producing a new production of Grease: The Musical starring Janel Parrish (Pretty Little Liars) as Sandy, Katie Findlay (How to Get Away with Murder) as Rizzo, and introducing Dylan S. Wallach (Summer Blink, (Blank) My Life) as Danny, directed by Josh Prince (Beautiful, The Carole King Musical; Shrek, The Musical), this fall at The Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre Centre, 189 Yonge Street, Toronto. Previews begin November 1, 2017, with Opening Night on Thursday, November 9, 2017. Tickets go on sale September 5, 2017.

It's School Again! for Aaron Hastelow. The Islander will return to The Charlottetown Festival this summer for his second stint as Avonlea sweetheart, Gilbert Blythe. 

Trading Kinky Boots' red heels for red braids, AJ Bridel is set for school again. The 22-year-old actress will become the 18th triple threat to play Anne Shirley at The Charlottetown Festival, joining an all new production led by Artistic Director Adam Brazier.

Jay Davis who plays the lead Gabriel in Charlottetown Festival's EVANGELINE, became ill and lost his voice right before the first preview show.  Davis did not have an understudy, so artistic director, Adam Brazier, had to step in at the last minute to replace him, it was reported.
