Imagine my surprise, even before the September 15 DIRTY TRICKS with The New Bad Boys of Magic monthly event, when I walked into The Three Clubs to find the room where I have seen dozens of shows over the years now completely remodeled to look and feel like a real cocktail lounge performance space! And what a perfect place to sit up close and personal during the ongoing monthly comedy-magic variety s featuring Chicago natives and Los Angeles residents, now headliners at the world-famous Magic Castle, Daniel Donohue and Eric Siegel, collectively known as The New Bad Boys of Magic, along with a rotating cast of the world's foremost professional prestidigitators and other adult variety acts, making it an entertaining evening for the over 21 crowd.

Production photos have been released for acclaimed theatre company The Wardrobe Ensemble's production of Education, Education, Education, in co-production with Royal & Derngate, Northampton and Shoreditch Town Hall. The Scotsman Fringe First Award and The Stage Edinburgh Award winning, smash-hit production will play a strictly limited four week run in London's West End this summer.

The Ogunquit Playhouse 2019 season kicks off with Jersey Boys! The multi-Tony Award-winning, international sensation that performed to sold-out houses during its run in 2018, is back by popular demand May 15 through June 15. The cast that BroadwayWorld exclaimed to be "the closest you'll ever get to having seen Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons," also returns to the Ogunquit stage - Jonathan Mousset (Frankie Valli), Matt Magnusson (Tommy DeVito), Andy Christopher (Bob Gaudio), and Matthew Amira (Nick Massi).

Brendan O'Hea returns to direct Globe on Tour, where a company of eight actors will once again offer audiences around the world a trio of plays which this year explore the themes of refuge and displacement. Continuing last summer's experiment, which revived the Shakespearean tradition of allowing audiences to vote for the play they'd like to see, this year's audiences will cast their votes for The Comedy of Errors, Twelfth Night or Pericles, all stories of lost families, new homes, and what it means to belong. The tour will return to the Globe stage for Refugee Week (17 - 23 June) as part of a wider programme of events in which refugee artists, performers and audiences will all share their stories.

Also joining the company are Colin Campbell (Disco Pigs, Trafalgar Studios and Irish Repertory Theatre, New York; Scotties, Scottish tour; Dublin by Lamplight, Abbey Theatre) as Pockets, Sade Malone (4 O'Clock Club, CBBC; The Queen and I, Sky; Seasons in the Sun, East Riding Theatre) as Toller and in his professional stage debut Peter Newington will star as Trix. Directed by Debbie Hannan (Things of Dry Hours, Young Vic; The Session, Soho Theatre; Who Cares, Royal Court), Cuckoo is from the distinctive new comic voice of debut playwright Lisa Carroll. Exploring gender identity, Carroll also dissects the true cost of belonging and reflects on how hard it is to break away from the place you grew up.

Returning to its theatrical roots this year, the 36th annual Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards were held on Monday, July 16th at Bard on the Beach in the BMO Mainstage in Vanier Park, a fitting venue in a magnificent setting. Origin's 1st Irish 2018, the world's only theatre festival dedicated to showcasing the work of contemporary Irish playwrights, handed out its Best of Festival Awards at closing night festivities at Rosie O'Grady's in Times Square last night. The awards were very evenly distributed among the seven productions in competition from Ireland and the US, but the life of the party was Isobel Mahon's comedy "Party Face," which picked up awards for Best Actress (its star Hayley Mills) and for Best Production. Produced by Robert Driemeyer, Morgan Sills and Jan Warner, the Irish hit's US premiere plays at City Center through April 8. Its New York-based cast includes Klea Blackhurst, Gina Costigan, Brenda Meaney and Allison Jean White.

Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciar n O'Reilly, Producing Director) and Tara Finney Productions announced today a two-week extension of the 20th Anniversary Production of Enda Walsh's breakthrough play DISCO PIGS. Directed by John Haidar (Last of the Boys), DISCO PIGS began performances on January 5, 2018 at Irish Rep Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage, and officially opened on January 9, 2018.
