Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and Artistic Director Steven Maler, have announced the cast and creative team for William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, starring the great Shakespearean actor John Douglas Thompson in the role of Prospero. 

Black Theatre United and Williamstown Theatre Festival have announced the participants, visiting luminary artists, and guest professors participating in the inaugural Early Career Black, Indigenous, and People of Color Theatre-Makers Program, a central new component of the Festival’s training program.

Today, Red Bull Theater announced a very special benefit reading of  Ben Jonson’s classic comedy, Volpone, or The Fox directed by Jesse Berger, Red Bull’s Founder and Artistic Director. First produced by Red Bull Theater in 2012, this new version will feature emendations & elaborations by director Berger and playwright Jeffrey Hatcher.

Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company announced winners of its 14th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition National Finals,  held virtually on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 7pm ET. The first place winner was Taloria Merricks from Atlanta; second place, Taylor Jackson from Atlanta; and third place, Tyla Uzo from Los Angeles.
