A musical adaptation of the 2003 Christmas movie 'Elf' makes a lot of sense: the movie has all of the joy, sweetness, glitz, slapstick, and happily-ever-after for a crowd-pleasing production. This adaptation, now performing for a brief stint at The Paramount Theatre, stays loyal to the vast majority of the content in the movie. Many of the lines are verbatim. Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin's adaptation has tweaks here and there to leave room for elaborate musical numbers (many of which have some fun choreography), but the premise is the same: Buddy is on a quest to find his dad, reconnect with him, and, in the process, revive New York City's (and, indirectly, the world's) lost Christmas spirit.

ELF THE MUSICAL is a fun family favorite for all ages. Based on the 2003 film which starred Will Ferrell, the show debuted on Broadway in 2010 with George Wendt as Santa Claus. He reprises the role in the touring production at the Wang Theatre, leading an ensemble of singing and dancing elves, and a big, childlike Erik Gratton as Buddy the Elf.

The national tour of ELF THE MUSICAL, with its delightful story and score, brings Christmas cheer to the Eccles Theater.

Madison Square Garden ushers in the holiday season with the New York return of Elf The Musical. Director Sam Scalamoni oversees a cast of 28 including George Wendt (Cheers) starring as Santa Claus. The show is playing a limited engagement at The Theater at Madison Square Garden from December 13th through December 29th.

There are times when minimal is the wrong way to go. Dutch Apple pulls out all the set and costume stops for MY FAIR LADY and does Lerner and Loewe proud.
