The University of Houston’s Moores Opera Center will launch its 2025–26 season with the world premiere of Hobson’s Choice, a new comic opera by acclaimed American composer Tom Cipullo, October 23–26 at the Moores Opera House.

And what of Wesley Whitson as Hamlet, perhaps the most challenging role in the entire canon of Shakespeare’s works? He is age-appropriate and fiercely dives into the madness for the first two-thirds, and then becomes steely and predatory for the final acts.

Primarily based on the TV series, the audience is reminded of the height of '80s fashion and pop culture. Jane Fonda's workout tape, teased hair, and denim are the beginnings of a great night of frivolity and fun as audience members become participants in this new camp classic.
