At long last, women playwrights take center stage at the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene. The Yiddish Women Playwrights Series, scheduled to proceed on June 21, 2022 with a FREE streamed production of Kadya Molodowsky's Ale Fentster Tsu der Zun (All Windows Face the Sun), highlights revolutionary, avant garde, feminist works from writers whose contributions to the Yiddish theatre have long been overlooked, ignored, and locked away.

The Outer Critics Circle (OCC), the official organization of writers on New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers and national publications, has announced the winners of the 71st Annual Outer Critics Circle Awards, honoring the 2021-2022 Broadway and Off-Broadway season.

Last night, Off-Broadway saw the closing night of the new musical Harmony at the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene. Joining the cast on stage at the curtain call and teasing a potential transfer were the creators, Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussman, along with the director/choreographer Warren Carlyle.

Harmony: A New Musical, starring musical theatre icons Chip Zien (Into the Woods, Caroline, Or Change) and Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid, The Phantom of the Opera), has announced the recording of their original cast album, to be produced by Barry Manilow and co-produced by Lawrence Manchester. National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) just celebrated opening night of Harmony, written by the legendary Barry Manilow and his longtime collaborator Bruce Sussman and directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Warren Carlyle.

Barry Manilow has released a statement, sharing that due to testing positive for COVID-19, he will be unable to attend the opening night performance of his musical HARMONY.
