SFJAZZ has unveiled its 2026-27 Season, Forward Motion, featuring more than 350 concerts that celebrate jazz as a living, evolving art form shaped by artists from around the world.

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater have announced programming for January 19 through February 1. Highlights include Ms. Lisa Fischer featuring the Orrin Evans Trio, The Mingus Big Band, Emma Smith Quartet, and return engagements by Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks and Jim Caruso’s Cast Party.

The CJRO Quintet and Marion Powers will perform an evening of seasonal music. This concert includes a mix of holiday tunes and jazz standards in the relaxed, small club setting of the Muse.

Three shows have been added to the calendar at The Smith Center: Japanese ensemble Drum Tao and classical/hip-hop blenders Drum Tao, both returning to Reynolds Hall by popular demand, and fast-rising jazz star Samara Joy, making her Las Vegas debut.

The musical pays tribute to Djavan, a true icon of Brazilian music, known for his unique blend of samba, jazz, pop, and Afro-Brazilian rhythms. Djavan’s career spans decades of hits and collaborations with international artists like Stevie Wonder. His songs have been recorded by renowned musicians such as Al Jarreau, Carmen McRae, and The Manhattan Transfer, solidifying his influence worldwide.
