Lifeforce in Later Years, affectionately known as LiLY, is an UWS and West Harlem based non-profit that coordinates support from a network of caring neighborhood volunteers and community resources to help seniors age safely in their homes. The organization has been featured on CNN Heroes and AARP Inspire as a model for improving the way we honor and care for the elderly. The annual LiLY Legacies gala is being held on Monday, May 6th here on the UWS at the Columbia University Low Library Rotunda.

The 25th Anniversary TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards were held last Friday, April 26 at The Edison Ballroom. The honorees were: Susan Hilferty who was presented the TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award by her friends Chita Rivera and Michael Mayer; scenic designer John Lee Beatty who was presented the Robert L. B. Tobin Award by former Sharaff awardee, Jane Greenwood; Miodrag Guberinic who was presented the Kitty Leach Young Master Award by former Sharaff awardee Paul Tazewell, and Rodney Gordon who was presented the TDF/Irene Sharaff Artisan Award by Tony winner (and former employee) Cady Huffman. This year's film by Suzy Benzinger was a special tribute to Irene Sharaff in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the awards.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, acclaimed singers-songwriters-entertainers Will & Anthony Nunziata release a brand-new version of their original song “The Gift Is You” - a song they wrote with hit-songwriter Jeff Franzel. The brothers wrote the song last year after learning of their mother's breast cancer diagnosis. Inspired by the successful reading of the classic play, "12 Angry Men," by Reginald Rose this fall featuring 12 Broadway actresses, producer Lauren Class Schneider announced in January that women in law schools, universities, high schools, community and regional theaters, and community centers across the country were invited to raise their voices - with scripts in hand - in readings of the play with all-female casts over the weekend of April 5-8, 2019.
