Country music superstar Carrie Underwood is stepping down from her duties as host of the Country Music Awards.

Charley Pride: I'm Just Me, a documentary about the life and career of legendary Country music superstar Charley Pride, will debut on CBC's documentary Channel on Wednesday, January 1 at 7:30 pm ET/4:30 pm PT as part of their All Day Music Marathon. It will repeat on Sunday, February 2 at 9:00 pm ET/PT.

What happens when the repertoire of George Gershwin goes country? We're about to find out, thanks to Michael Feinstein. According to Forbes, the music man has already recorded an album in Nashville, titled Gershwin Country, which will be released soon by Concord. Artists featured on the album, which was executive produced by Liza Minnelli, include Lee Ann Womack, Brad Paisley, Amy Grant, Lyle Lovett, Ronnie Milsap, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss and Rosanne Cash.

Country music superstar Alan Jackson will continue his career-long tradition of showcasing new talent on tour by inviting artists from his Nashville honky-tonk, AJ's Good Time Bar, to perform at several of his concerts for the second year in a row.

During the week of Dec. 2, 2019, ABC's “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” ranked as the week's No. 1 late-night talk show outright in Adults 18-49, edging out CBS' “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” (427,000 vs. 424,000) and NBC's “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (418,000). In addition, despite airing a repeat telecast on Friday (versus four original broadcasts for “Fallon”), “Kimmel” outdrew “Fallon” by 10% in Total Viewers (1.876 million vs. 1.713 million) to stand as the No. 2 talk show of the week. 

 The Country Music Association visited Portland Sunday, Dec. 8 with hit songwriters Marcus Hummon, Lori McKenna, Lee Thomas Miller and Country artists  Kenny Foster and Tenille Townes. NBC (4.546 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #1) was the adults 18-49 champ on a competitive Tuesday with its mix of 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' (5.300 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #1), 'How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming' (3.873 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3), 'The Voice' (6.390 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) and 'Making It' (2.660 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T10).

“Brad Paisley Thinks He's Special” is set to air TUESDAY, DEC. 3 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EST), on ABC. The variety special, hosted and executive produced by Sony country music superstar Brad Paisley, will showcase the energy of Music City from Nashville's iconic War Memorial Auditorium through a combination of Paisley's signature humor, unexpected surprises, heartfelt field pieces and rousing musical performances. “Brad Paisley Thinks He's Special” will be produced by Sony Pictures Television. Brad Paisley, Jane Mun, RAC Clark, Bill Simmons and Kendal Marcy will serve as executive producers. 

Broadcasting from Brooklyn, New York, for five original shows during the week of Oct. 21, 2019, ABC's “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” grew for the 2nd straight week to a new season high in Adults 18-49 (+2% - 443,000 vs. 434,000). In fact, “Kimmel” delivered its strongest performance among Adults 18-49 in 4 months—since the week of 6/17/19. The ABC late-night program also drew its 2nd-largest weekly audience this season (1.976 million).

Today, Hannah Dasher releases her new song “The Tree,” while celebrating her debut performance on country music's most famous stage, the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. “The Tree” shows Dasher as country's newest powerhouse, infusing country hooks with a distinct rock 'n' roll strut.

When COLT FORD took the stage last night (9/17/19) at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, little did he know the surprise that awaited him as he exited the stage after his performance and standing ovation. Country star Jamey Johnson presented FORD with an RIAA gold certified plaque marking sales of more than 500,000 units of Ride Through The Country, FORD's debut album released in 2008 featuring Johnson on the track, 'Cold Beer.'
