The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team of its 23rd annual production of Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, which this year will be presented by KPBS Radio in San Diego as a free audio-only production. Due to the ongoing pandemic, The Old Globe is unable to produce the San Diego favorite on its stage this year.

San Diego Musical Theatre has announced the 'Stars Under The Stars' benefit concert scheduled to stream for three days only - September 25-27, 2020.

5-STAR THEATRICALS has announced a series of workshops and talk backs featuring some of the stars and creative teams from 5-Star's archives of fantastic productions.

To help commemorate the 40th anniversary season of the Moonlight Amphitheatre, a line-up of favorite current and past performers will comprise the 2020 offerings at ClubM, the theatre's intimate indoor cabaret space. Running January through March and sponsored by Vista Energy Storage, ClubM will feature Eric Kunze (Broadway - 'Les Misérables,' 'Miss Saigon,' 'Damn Yankees') and Gina Feliccia (Broadway and Broadway National Tour - 'Les Misérables') on Friday, Jan. 17 and Saturday, Jan. 18 (please note that the January 18 date is sold out); Jacob Haren (Broadway- 'The Book of Mormon') on Saturday, February 1; Moonlight Favorites including Bets Malone, Richard Bermudez, Kevin Hafso-Koppman and Kyrsten Hafso-Koppman on Saturday, Feb. 15; and Allison Spratt Pearce (Broadway - 'Curtains') on Saturday, March 14. The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the Globe's 22nd annual production of Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The holiday musical will run November 10 a?' December 29 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

a?oeInto the Woods,a?? the Stephen Sondheim musical that catapulted the reputation of the Moonlight Amphitheatre in 1990 when it was the first regional theatre in the United States to be granted the production rights to the show, will be presented in a concert version for one night only on Sat., October 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Menopause the Musical is set in New York's Bloomingdale's department store where four women with different backgrounds, but similar unwelcome symptoms of growing older, run into each other while shopping and begin to share their experiences. The musical's success depends on wry humor and nostalgia for pop songs from the 1950s through 80s. An overture precedes 23 tunes arranged as solos or for varied combinations of singers. Playwright Jeanie Linders left melodies intact, but rewrote the lyrics to fit the work's overriding theme: getting old is no fun, might as well laugh about what we can't avoid.

Welk Resorts Theatre today announced its 2019 season kicks off March 15 with San Diego theatre royalty starring in 'Menopause the Musical.' The 29th season of the famed Welk Theatre, which underwent a lobby remodel in 2018, also features Tony Award-nominated 'The Addams Family,' which will run Sept. 6 to Nov. 10, and Larry Raben's new 'Welkome Home for the Holidays!' running Nov. 22 to Dec. 29.  Weekly variety shows featuring popular classic rock tribute bands (The Eagles, Beatles and Neil Diamond) round out the season.

Country music is like cilantro. Either you like it or you don't. I fall into the latter category on both. It's not a snobby thing. My dislike for cilantro, I'm told, has to do with genetics and my country gene seems to either be latent or missing. I mean, all of my friends love it, and I'd like to get with the program, I swear. Previews run November 3 - November 7. Opening night is Thursday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m. The Grinch isdirected by James Vasquez, with book and lyrics by Timothy Mason and music by Mel Marvin. The original production of Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas! was conceived and directed by Jack O'Brien with additional lyrics by Theodor S. Geisel, additional music by Albert Hague, and original choreography by John DeLuca.

San Diego's favorite holiday tradition, back for its 21st incredible year, is a wonderful, whimsical production that will once again jump right off the pages of the classic Dr. Seuss book and onto the Old Globe's stage. Back for its 20th incredible year, the family favorite features the songs "This Time of Year," "Santa for a Day," and "Fah Who Doraze," the delightful carol from the popular animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Celebrate the holidays as the Old Globe Theatre is once again transformed into the snow-covered Whoville, right down to the last can of Who-hash.
