Well-aware of the Peter Shaffer implications of programming MOZART'S REQUIEM with a Salieri symphony, Charlotte Symphony flipped the script, revealing a happy-go-lucky Salieri and a fearsome Mozart.

The University Musical Society (UMS) announces its 141st season, which runs from September 2019 through April 2020. The Santa Barbara Symphony continues their 65th Anniversary season this March, with a performance of Amadeus Live, featuring guest conductor Dirk Brosse, and pianist Natasha Kislenko alongside the Santa Barbara Symphony choir, on Saturday,  March 16 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, March 17 at 3:00 pm at The Granada Theatre.

London's Royal Albert Hall continues its successful series of blockbusting films broadcast on an enormous high definition screen, this time accompanied by the Philharmonia Chorus and the Academy of St Martin in the Field.

Pioneer Theatre Company begins the sixth season of Play-by-Play's New Play Reading Series with Art & Class by Utah playwright, Matthew Ivan Bennett. The staged readings will take place at the Babcock Theatre on Friday, October 5 and Saturday, October 6, 2018.

Amadeus, produced by the Masquerade Theatre Company, is set to open at the Teatru Manoel October 19 before closing October 28, 2018. 

Before there was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, there was Antonio Salieri. Today, most people only know the latter as a character in the play AMADEUS and its Oscar-winning film version, and not as head of all things musical in Vienna for decades and a prolific composer. You've got to give points to the spunky little Dell'Arte Opera Ensemble for digging up Salieri's 1789 work LA CIFRA (THE CYPHER), an opera buffa popular in its time, and giving its US premiere.

Hailed for its 'compelling and innovative programming (WQXR Radio)," dell'Arte Opera Ensemble today announced its 2018 summer festival dedicated to works by Mozart and Salieri. Starting on August 11, 2018, and running until August 26, the festival features 13 performances of two fully-staged operas, a scenes program, and an intimate recital to be presented in the intimate black-box space of La MaMa Theatre. Currently in its 16th season, dell'Arte has filled the summer lull with fresh productions of well-known classics and rarities, performed by the developmental company's cast of young singers, supported by a fine musical ensemble.

Maxime Quiroga will join the cast of the Mozart and Salieri when it returns by popular demand to the Artscape Opera House stage on 24 August for a limited season. Quiroga joins a stellar Cape Town City Ballet cast lead by Martin Milner as Mozart, Daniel Szybkowski and Ivan Boonzaier as Salieri and ballerinas Laura Bosenberg and Mariette Opperman as Constanze.

After a hugely successful premiere season in February this year, Mozart & Salieri returns to the Artscape Opera House by popular demand from 24 August to 1 September 2018. The sumptuous adaptation of Alexander Puskin's short story, choreographed by Marc Goldberg, will once again be presented by Cape Town City Ballet (CTCB), for only six performances. The two act production drips in glamour, intrigue and innovation with ground-breaking digitized set design, exquisite costuming and powerful dancing, all set to Mozart's celebrated compositions.
