LAMTA'S year-end production, ALL TOGETHER NOW!, opened over the weekend to standing ovations. In collaboration with Music Theatre International and Pieter Toerien productions, ALL TOGETHER NOW! was a fantastic celebration of well-known musical theatre numbers that combined the best of established and up-and-coming local talent.

This November, Pieter Toerien's Theatre On The Bay joins the global theatre community in presenting a spectacular night of musical theatre magic.

Inspired by photography from the past and present, Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy's PHOTOGRAPH successfully debuted their students' variety of talents and abilities on the Theatre on the Bay stage last week.

The Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA) has managed to put together a celebration, reflection and exhibition of 2020 through their students’ talents and perspectives. A live theatrical journey not soon to be forgotten, AWAKENING is a beautiful production.

If a sold-out weekday Artscape Opera House is anything to go by, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW is undoubtedly a smash hit for all types of theatregoers. Richard O'Brien's beloved cult classic has been running internationally since 1973, and Pieter Toerien and Howard Panter's local presentation of it will have audiences jumping to the left and stepping to the right straight into 2020 with every aspect of this production being a feast for the senses.

The Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA) ended 2019 on a festively Lloyd Webber note with its first musical theatre production, ENCORE!. Supported by well-known names in local theatre and touring productions, ENCORE! showed off the triple threat stylings of their 20-plus students by taking the audience on a trip down musical memory lane.

This legendary rock 'n roll show - which Christopher Luscombe first directed in 2005 and now with resident director Anton Luitingh by his side - will undoubtedly thrill audiences into 2020. The Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA) is a full-time tertiary Academy for the Performing Arts and is especially geared for training triple-threat performers for a career in the Arts. Duane Alexander and Anton Luitingh announced the Academy in April 2018 with the support and endorsement of Theatre Impresario, Pieter Toerien, who has been instrumental in the development of LAMTA. The brand new, sought after Academy is housed on the top floor of the beautiful Theatre on the Bay in Cape Town and boasts six stunning studios in the heart of Camps Bay. LAMTA opened its doors in January this year and has since enjoyed two hugely successful productions on the Theatre on the Bay stage with its first intake of 28 students.

OFFBEAT BROADWAY 5 is an irreverent romp through the world's most loved and loathed musicals with the original cast of Anton Luitingh, Paul du Toit and Lindy Abromowitz all bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to murder a string of musicals. Once again directed by SA funny man, Alan Committie, that most infamous of genres, musical theatre gets overhauled with their wicked harmonies and irreverent sense of humour.
