by BWW News Desk - Apr 5, 2019

Cause & Affection, the debut full-length melodic shredfest from Nashville's Oginalii (pronounced 'oh-gan-ALL-ee' and which translates to 'my friend' in Cherokee) produced by All Them Witches' Ben McLeod, is available everywhere today. From shining a spotlight of frustration on the treatment of women in the music industry to championing freedom of choice and issuing a widespread call for empathy, this band has something to say, and they aren't afraid to say it. Their sound cuts through the noise of today's musical landscape and their message is of the moment. 'The record is about growing up, losing yourself, finding yourself again, and wishing you were elsewhere--all while learning to love who you're looking at in the mirror and understanding that the greatest gift we have as humans is empathy,” explains frontwoman Emma Hoeflinger. No Country For Nashville, which premiered the sessions, says that the songs channel 'the more intimate vibe of the group's acoustic beginnings (before they reappear on the album in all of their electric, face-melting glory). In their deconstructed format, the songs really showcase [Emma] Hoeflinger's powerful and earnest vocal delivery, and expert ability to craft nuanced and layered tunes at their core, weaving between genre conventions and building to soaring, gut-punching sonic highs.' Nashville Rockers Oginalii Release New Single FORGOTTEN KINDNESSNashville Rockers Oginalii Release New Single FORGOTTEN KINDNESS
by BWW News Desk - Nov 9, 2018

Nashville-based Oginalii (pronounced 'oh-gan-ALL-ee' and which translates to 'my friend' in Cherokee) unveils 'No Littering,' a call for empathy and the third single from their forthcoming debut LP Cause and Affection, set for release on April 9, 2019. 'Empathy is more than foreplay. Trying to grow understanding in any kind of relationship is difficult, especially when it's hard to relate from the beginning,' says shredder and vocalist Emma Hoeflinger of the song's meaning. 'That's why empathy has always and will always be at the forefront of situations I put myself in. Trying to put yourself where others are mentally and emotionally gives you insight into what it's like to be outside of yourself. This glimpse into another's perspective makes you a better human in my opinion. 'Forgotten Kindness' is about just that,' she continues. 'This song is about humbling oneself, and instead of blaming others for the chaos around you, taking action and growing from it.” (more...)

by BWW News Desk - Sep 6, 2018

Nashville-based Oginalii (pronounced 'oh-gan-ALL-ee' and which translates to 'my friend' in Cherokee) are taking a stand with 'Further In/Out,' hard-hitting feminist statement rock featured on their forthcoming debut LP Cause and Affection, set for release on April 9, 2019. 'This song was me channeling all my frustrations/angst/anger at all the bullshit my female friends and I come across within the music industry, specifically,' says frontwoman Emma Hoeflinger in her refreshing not-gonna-ever-mince-words-style. 'It became my mantra of sorts because having to choose between staying silent or speaking up shouldn't have to be so hard. I want to set precedent but I also know making that choice isn't going to be fun and it won't be easy. However, I do get a kick out of people getting pissed 'cause women don't want to take shit anymore. I'm down to be uncomfortable if it means I'm rattling those cages.” (more...)
