Seattle's internationally renowned Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) today announced the tribute artist line-up for its annual Founders Award celebration on December 1, 2020. Due to the pandemic, this year's celebration will be streamed virtually on Amazon Music's Twitch Channel for the first time and fans around the world will be able to view the entire celebration online. Brooklyn dance education non-profit Dancewave announces its 2020 Artist-in-Residence awardees, Rohan Bhargava of Rovaco Dance Company and Winston Dynamite Brown & Latra Ann Wilson of The DynamitExperience, supported in part by the Emma A. Sheafer Charitable Trust. Spring 2020 Artists-in-Residence (A.I.R.s) will join past awardees Erin Carlisle Norton of The Moving Architects and Brinda Guha of Kalamandir Dance Company, Dancewave's first-ever Artists-in-Residence. Through this program, Dancewave supports emerging artists who demonstrate a particular interest in cultural investigation, community engagement, dynamic movement, and strong choreographic vision. A.I.R.s receive a stipend for 60 hours of rehearsal space, host youth and adult Master classes, and produce a culminating performance open to the public at the Dancewave Center (182 4th Avenue in Gowanus, Brooklyn). Teatro ZinZanni and Randolph Entertainment have announced New Year's Eve festivities for the Dec. 31 performance at the Spiegeltent ZaZou, located in the heart of the theatre district at 32 W. Randolph. In addition to a decadent four-course dinner theatre experience, Teatro ZinZanni will host a vibrant pre-show sparkling wine and cocktail hour and post-show celebration for audience members to get their groove on with dancing and a complimentary sparkling wine toast at midnight. The American Dance Guild Festival 2019, Shaping the Now: Dance in Uncertain Times, will honor dance educator and advocate Jody Gottfried Arnhold and choreographic luminaries Gus Solomons jr and Abdel R. Salaam, co-founder and director of Forces of Nature Dance Theater. There will be four days of performances by thirty-three contemporary choreographers from across the United States. The Festival will take place October 3 through October 6 at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55th Street, in New York City.
