The Broadway production of Frozen will not reopen as a result of the industry-wide shutdown and resulting economic fallout. The production's final performance was Wednesday evening March 11, having played 825 performances and 26 previews.

On this day in 2014, Idina Menzel did it all again in the new musical from the Pulitzer Prize-winning duo behind Next to Normal, If/Then.

On Friday's episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, Frozen on Broadway's new Anna and Elsa,  McKenzie Kurtz and Ciara Renée, performed the television debut of 'I Can't Lose You.' 

Frozen has welcomed a trio of new stars to the company beginning last night, Tuesday, February 18, 2020. McKenzie Kurtz makes her Broadway debut starring as Anna, Ciara Renée (Pippin, Big Fish, The Hunchback of Notre Dame) stars as Elsa, and Ryan McCartan (Wicked; Heathers: The Musical; Disney Channel's 'Liv & Maddie') joins the cast as Hans.

As it approaches its second anniversary on Broadway, Frozen will welcome a trio of new stars joining the company tonight, Tuesday, February 18, 2020. McKenzie Kurtz makes her Broadway debut starring as Anna, Ciara Renée (Pippin, Big Fish, The Hunchback of Notre Dame) stars as Elsa, and Ryan McCartan (Wicked; Heathers: The Musical; Disney Channel's “Liv & Maddie”) joins the cast as Hans, replacing Patti Murin, Caissie Levy, and Joe Carroll, respectively.

Original stars of Frozen, Caissie Levy and Patti Murin, play their final performance as Elsa and Anna tonight, February 16.

Arendelle will soon welcome new royalty! BroadwayWorld has just learned that Ciara Renée, McKenzie Kurtz and Ryan McCartan will soon join the cast of Broadway's Frozen as Elsa, Anna, and Hans. All three will play their first performance on February 18. They take over the roles from original company members Caissie Levy and Patti Murin and Joe Carroll.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that original Broadway cast members of Dear Evan Hansen Jennifer Laura Thompson and Michael Park will play their final performances as Cynthia Murphy and Larry Murphy, respectively, on Sunday, August 4. Beginning Tuesday, August 6, Ivan Hernandez (who made his Broadway debut as Billy Flynn in Chicago in 2015) will take over the role of Larry Murphy, and Ann Sanders will temporarily take over the role of Cynthia Murphy (through October 20).

The cold never bothered Broadway anyway! Frozen is now playing at the historic St. James Theatre, where it opened on Thursday, March 22, 2018 and has been in the top 10 best-selling shows every week, establishing itself as the biggest musical hit of its season. Having grossed more than any new Broadway musical since Hamilton and set four St. James Theatre house records in less than a year, Frozen has been seen by nearly 1M people since its Denver pre-Broadway engagement.
