BWW Review: HOW TO DEFEND YOURSELF at Victory Gardens Theater BWW Review: HOW TO DEFEND YOURSELF at Victory Gardens Theater
by Rachel Weinberg - Feb 2, 2020

Liliana Padilla's HOW TO DEFEND YOURSELF offers a brilliant examination of collegiate life, and, more specifically, the ways in which rape culture and the entirely real possibility of sexual assault affect university students. But what makes Padilla's play so powerful, fascinating, and entertaining is that their playwriting never becomes preachy or pointed. BWW Review: ALIAS GRACE Haunts at Cincinnati Playhouse In The Park BWW Review: ALIAS GRACE Haunts at Cincinnati Playhouse In The Park
by Anne Simendinger - Oct 1, 2019

I'll be the first to admit that when I read the show blurb for Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's 'Alias Grace,' I was a little anxious and hesitant about seeing it. I knew the talent would be through the roof, and the production quality would be extraordinary, as always, but it was the subject matter that I feared. I am an absolute wimp when it comes to thrillers and murder mysteries. Yet, I spent the entire play on the edge of my seat, thoroughly enjoying myself and mourning the end when the lights came up. BWW Review: APPOGGIATURA Explores Love and Grief in Venice at the Indiana Repertory Theatre BWW Review: APPOGGIATURA Explores Love and Grief in Venice at the Indiana Repertory Theatre
by Melissa Hall - Mar 19, 2018

The play, part of a trilogy written by playwright-in-residence James Still, follows three travelers on a sojourn through lovely Venice. On their journey they wander the canals finding pieces of their hearts as they go. The city feels like one of the main characters in the story. As one actor notes, 'Venice is as old and broken as the rest of us.'. (more...)
