Yesterday, Saturday, March 12th, the matinee and evening performances of Hadestown were cancelled. Hadestown has been struggling with company outages due to injuries, sickness, and Covid. As of now, today's performance of Hadestown is still scheduled to go on. Visit the show's website here for the most updated information. 

Hadestown has cancelled their matinee performance for today, Saturday, March 12th at 2pm. According to a Tweet from New York Times theater reporter Michael Paulson, the afternoon performance has been struck by a combination of problems, including Covid and injuries. 

Tony-nominee Amber Gray, who originated the role of Persephone in Hadestown, will return to the musical for Friday night's performance at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

When a musical makes as much of an impact on Broadway as HADESTOWN did when it first premiered, the first national tour cast has a lot to live up to. Luckily, the tour of HADESTOWN manages to recapture all of the magic that the show had on Broadway, with a stellar cast stepping into the roles.

Lana Gordon will play the role of Persephone in Hadestown, the winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, starting Tuesday, February 22 at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre. Gordon previously starred on Broadway as Velma Kelly in Chicago and was an original cast member in The Lion King and is currently the Persephone alternate for Amber Gray, who originated the role, and as previously announced will play her final performance in Hadestown on Saturday evening, February 19.

Amber Gray, who originated the role of Persephone in Hadestown, the Tony Award®-winning Best New Musical, will play her final performance at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street) on Saturday evening, February 19.

Way down in Memphis, there's a poor boy working on a song. If you are at all familiar with the Tony-award winning musical Hadestown, you know you can expect laughs, tears, gorgeous songs, and a story that's as ancient as, well, the gods.

The Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Hadestown, was among the Broadway shows sidelined this evening. A representative for the production has confirmed that tomorrow's matinee has also been canceled. The status of the Saturday evening show is to be determined. 

Last night, the Broadway community was invited to an advance screening of Steven Spielberg's new West Side Story film adaptation. The screening was hosted by members of the cast and creative team including Kevin McCollum, Brian d’Arcy James, Tony Kushner, Jeanine Tesori, Paul Tazewell and Justin Peck. Tomorrow, original Broadway cast member Patrick Page will return to Hadestown, the 2019 Tony Award-winning Best New Musical. For his performance as Hades, king of the underworld, Page received a Grammy Award and Tony Award nomination.

Gordon will join the cast the week beginning Monday, October 11 and will perform the role of Persephone twice a week.

The Broadway production of Hadestown will welcome back one of its original stars next month as Patrick Page returns to the role of Hades on Tuesday, November 9.
