Patrons of 54 Below glimpsed a special piece of New York City history with its presentation of DAVID JACKSON & DAVID WHITE: COTTON CLUB CONFIDENTIAL on February 15, 2024.  Each a Broadway veteran in their own right, David Jackson and David White brought the famed ambiance of the Cotton Club of the 1920’s and 30’s to life in 21st century midtown Manhattan.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer), in association with Kierstead Productions (Jim Kierstead) and Chalant Productions (Lisa Reich), presented a one-night only presentation of The Post-Roe Monologues, a play with music by Mimi Zieman, with music direction by Saul Nache and directed by Maria Torres on Monday, November 6 at 7pm at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center. Black Theatre United (BTU) announced today a star-studded lineup of honorary co-chairs for its upcoming inaugural Gala on Monday, October 30 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom, which includes Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Cookie Johnson, Al Roker & Deborah Roberts, Blair Underwood, Congresswoman Ayanna Presley, Tommi A. Vincent and Troy Vincent Sr.

The Theatre World Awards were presented Monday night, June 5.  Julie Benko received the 14th Annual Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence in the Theater, and 2023 TWA Special Award Honorees, Marilyn Caserta for Outstanding Swing and Dale Badway for Outstanding Contribution to the Theatre World.  Check out photos here!

On Wednesday, May 24, the Museum of the City of New York held its  CENTENNIAL GALA -- an evening of dinner, dancing, and the unveiling of its new exhibition, This Is New York: 100 Years of the City in Art and Pop Culture.
