The official title of the new series “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” — a continuation of the Emmy® Award-winning “Wizards of Waverly Place” — was announced on stage at the Disney Upfront by Selena Gomez. Gomez, who serves as the new series’ executive producer and guest star, also revealed first-look images and the series logo.

New series regular Max Matenko (“Platonic”) plays Justin’s youngest son, Milo, and joins the previously announced cast, including Janice LeAnn Brown (Disney’s “Just Roll with It”) in the lead role as a young, powerful wizard Billie; and more. Selena Gomez is set to make guest appearances.

Selena Gomez is set to return as Alex Russo in a Wizards of Waverly Place revival series pilot on Disney Channel. Gomez will guest star in the pilot while the series will revolve around David Henrie – who played her brother, Justin – as a series regular. Also joining the pilot are Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele, and Mimi Gianopulos.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the beloved holiday film's release, a truly outstanding all-star cast has been assembled for For The Record and The Wallis’ co-production of LOVE ACTUALLY LIVE, the multimedia concert celebration with performances scheduled from Wednesday, Nov. 22 - Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, at Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. For The Record’s perennial holiday favorite Love Actually Live returned to The Wallis November 29, 2023. Commemorating the film’s 20th anniversary, Anderson Davis directs the cast of Tomasina Abate, Madison Taylor Baez, James Byous, Chris Cockrill, Audrey Cymone, Anthony Fedorov, Brayden Gleave, Grace Kinstler, Parissa Koo, Doug Kreeger, Austin Lesch, Ruby Lewis, Chris Mann, Jordan Ann Martone, Brian McKnight Jr., Darrell Morris Jr, Nina Nelson, Spencer Schaffe, Drew Seeley, Rex Smith, Alkaio Thiele and Cheyenne Isabel Wells. In the midst of previews, Ruby found some time to answer a few of my queries.

What did our critic think of OLIVER! at Bank Of America Performing Arts Center? As the earliest Broadway musical ever to feature children playing major roles, Oliver! usually bristles with youthful excitement. But despite being marketed as a family-oriented musical, Oliver! is really inappropriate for younger audiences, and it was uncomfortable listening to parents trying to explain to their small children at intermission why that nice girl Nancy loves the bully Sikes and how being successful in picking people's pockets is a positive career move.

The Music Hall and Ogunquit Playhouse has announced the cast of Elf The Musical, on stage from November 30 – December 18 at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Based on the beloved film, Elf The Musical is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole and raised as one of Santa's elves.
