After three exciting days of classical ballet and contemporary dance, the 10th South African International Ballet Competition (SAIBC) at the Artscape Opera House came to a thrilling close with a gala performance featuring the 2023 award winners and South African and international guest artists such as Angela Revie and SAIBC Juror Javier Monier Jr. from Mzansi Ballet and previous SAIBC winner Kiko Gomes from Cape Town City Ballet.

Destroy Boys have dropped a new single, “Shadow (I’m Breaking Down),” via Hopeless Records.  Once again working with Carlos de la Garza (Bad Religion, Paramore, The Linda Lindas), the new single exemplifies the trio’s penchant for mixing their high-energy and raw sound with their honest and unapologetic lyrics.

A Spotlight On Leading Ladies, a concert featuring West End stars Alexia Khadime (currently playing Elphaba in Wicked), Christine Allado (Hamilton, Prince of Egypt) and Emma Hatton (Wicked, Evita, We Will Rock You) will be available to stream for a limited time only. 

At a press conference held at Meridian Hall, the Toronto Alliance for the  Performing Arts (TAPA) announced 228 nominations for the 43rd Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, which recognize excellence in professional theatre, dance and opera in Toronto for the 2022-2023 season. Also announced at the press conference was the recipient of the Province of Ontario’s Pauline McGibbon Award. 

Rosie’s House' Ovation Gala broke all fundraising records at its event held at The Camby Autograph Collection on May 6.
