We Happy Few Will Present THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO

Helen Hayes Recommended We Happy Few (PERICLES, 2018; LOVERS' VOWS, 2019) continues its Classics-in-Action series with a new adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' novel of betrayal, revenge, and hope. Showcasing our signature ensemble casting and collaborative devising, our team of four actresses fill a world with treacherous enemies and unexpected friends of the unfortunate Edmond Dantes. The Count of Monte Cristo is a pop up performance and will be presented in a wide range of venues in March and April. Catch it at the Otis Street Arts Project, Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, Republic Restoratives, and Hole in the Sky DC.

HENRY IV, PART 1 Comes to Orlando Shakes

Shakespeare's epic Fire and Reign series continues with a dynamic production of Henry IV, Part 1, produced by Orlando Shakes in partnership with UCF. This production will run in repertory February 19 - March 21, 2020 along with Alexandre Dumas' The Three Musketeers, as adapted by Catherine Bush. BWW Review: Orlando Shakes Draws Swords and Laughs with THE THREE MUSKETEERS

Ask anyone to describe the Three Musketeers, and you'll get the usual answers: three heroes, bound together in brotherhood, inseparable in the most dire circumstances. They were a holy trinity of masculinity and friendship, the #SquadGoals of the 19th century. But unless one were intimately familiar with Alexandre Dumas' novel or its many adaptations, five will get you ten the average Joe today would be remiss to actually name all of them. That's not the fault of the average Joe, but rather the reputation that precedes these fictional characters. Most would be familiar with what they are, not necessarily who they are.

Hudson Warehouse kicks off its 17th Season with SENSE & SENSIBILITY, a beloved classic by Jane Austen with a new, exciting, and moving adaptation by Susane Lee. Ms. Lee adapted last year's PRIDE & PREJUDICE to sell-out crowds and this adaptation should thrill the most die-hard Austen fans. Nicholas Martin-Smith, the Producing Artistic Director of Hudson Warehouse, directed both Austen adaptations.

Lyric Opera of Kansas City Has Announced 2020-2021 Season

Lyric Opera of Kansas City General Director and CEO Deborah Sandler today announced the company's 2020-2021 season. It features four mainstage productions, including The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess and The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs, both of which are being performed on a Lyric Opera of Kansas City stage for the first time. Two all-time favorites known for incomparable melodies - Verdi's beloved La traviata and Bizet's passionate Carmen - round out the extraordinarily diverse season. The Kansas City Symphony Orchestra will accompany all performances at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. BWW Review: The Nutcracker - Kansas City Ballet

Kansas City Ballet's annual production of Tchaikovsky's a?oeNutcrackera?? remains a first class interpretation of this classic holiday work.  This a?oeNutcrackera?? with its lush and extravagant technical accoutrements has been performed to super reviews. This year it returns for a three week run at the Kauffman Center through Christmas Eve. As a theatrical enterprise, this 'Nutcracker' is unlikely to be surpassed by any other production of this beloved work.

Breakaway Entertainment Present's TALES OF A COCKTAIL

Tales Of A Cocktail tells the classic story of an innocent man wrongly, but deliberately sent to his demise and his brilliant strategy for revenge against those who betrayed him. Dashing young mobster Edward is a guileless and honest young man whose plans to marry the beautiful Mercedes and live a better life are abruptly shattered when his best friend who wants Mercedes for himself, deceives him. Told through a Chicago 1920s lens this dance adaptation brings to life the tale of The Count Of Monte Cristo.

The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts' THE NUTCRACKER is Undergoing Design Transformation

The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts' annual production of The Nutcracker is undergoing a major design transformation made possible by a gift of $202,000 from Mary C. DeFeudis, honorary director of the theatre's board of directors and an original founding member from the theatre's 2008 opening. Audiences will be the first to experience all-new scenic and lighting designs by Broadway's Christine Peters and Paul Miller.

Boston Ballet Presents THE NUTCRACKER

Boston Ballet presents the return of Mikko Nissinen's The Nutcracker. The critically-acclaimed production, featuring sets and costumes by award-winning designer Robert Perdziola, has been delighting audiences and critics since its world premiere in 2012. The Nutcracker, set to Tchaikovsky's renowned score, opens November 29 with performances through December 29 at the Citizens Bank Opera House.

There, he joins with Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, vowing to stand a?oeall for one and one for alla?? in their war against the Cardinal. Max Bush's dramatization brings to the stage all the excitement and derring-do of this classic story as Alexandre Dumas originally penned it in 1844. Heroism, treachery, close escapes and the pursuit of honor that is fun for all ages.
