BWW Feature: POCKETOPERA LA TRAVIATA: STERVEN AAN JE DIEPSTE WENS at Violetta Is In Het Concept Van Regisseur Dorike Van Genderen Een Trans Vrouw!

Van 5 november - 9 december 2021 toeren wij met de nieuwe pocketopera La traviata door Nederland. In de bewerking van regisseur Dorike van Genderen is Violetta een trans vrouw. Het concept is gebaseerd op het waargebeurde verhaal van Lili Elbe (1882 - 1931), die als een van de eersten geslachtsveranderende operaties onderging en daar uiteindelijk aan stierf.

Boston Ballet Presents Mikko Nissinen's THE NUTCRACKER

Boston Ballet presents the return of Mikko Nissinen's The Nutcracker. The critically-acclaimed production, featuring sets and costumes by award-winning designer Robert Perdziola, marks Boston Ballet's return to in-person performances for the first time since March 2020. The Nutcracker, set to Tchaikovsky's renowned score, opens November 26 with performances through December 26 at the Citizens Bank Opera House.

BWW Review: MONTE CRISTO at LG Arts Center

Based on the novel by the same name by Alexandre Dumas, MONTE CRISTO the Musical follows the life of Edmond Dantès, a young naive second mate of a French ship whose life plummeted on the happiest day of his life. Framed by the people he trusted, Edmond is locked up for life and after 15 years of suffering, with the help of an inmate, later mentor, Abbè Fria, he comes back under the name of a wealthy Count of Monte Cristo. Consumed by revenge, Edmond slowly plans a way to bring hell to those who have betrayed him.

BWW Review: THE LADY OF THE CAMELLIAS, Bolshoi Ballet in Cinemas

After a beautifully lyrical version of Romeo and Juliet, Russia’s Bolshoi Ballet returns to our cinema screens on November 1 with a highly emotional version of John Neumeier’s Lady of the Camellias. Created in 1979 for the Stuttgart Ballet, the Bolshoi has been performing this intensely poignant piece since 2014.
