BroadwayWorld has a first look at Drury Lane Theatre's production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I. Based on 'Anna and the King of Siam' by Margaret Landon,' with music by Richard Rodgers, and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, The King and I was originally choreographed by Jerome Robbins.

This production is simply exquisite!The current production at Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook Terrace, IL is Rodgers and Hammerstein's timeless story of the puzzled King of Siam and the British schoolteacher who educates more than just his children. The next Musical Theatre Melodies broadcast, hosted by Rob Morrison on 96.5 FM on Tuesday, February 1 will mark the 50th anniversary of the Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey musical GREASE from the 1972 original Broadway cast recording starring Barry Bostwick, Carole Demas, Adrienne Barbeau, Don Billett, Walter Bobbie, Jim Borrelli, James Canning, Daniel Deitch, Katie Hanley, Tom Harris, Ilene Kristen, Dorothy Leon, Timothy Meyers, Kathi Moss, Alan Paul, Joy Rinaldi, Marya Small and Garn Stephens.

Originally launched by Tim Hauser in 1969, the group consisted of Hauser, Alan Paul, Janis Siegel and Laurel Masse in 1972. Cheryl Bentyne joined the group in 1979 after Laurel Masse left following a car accidenta?"and that lineup would perform together for some 35 years.

BARRIE's classic work by 'America's Most-Produced Playwright' (American Theatre) LAUREN GUNDERSON (Ada and the Engine, Silent Sky).
