Out of 163 submissions, the San Diego State University New Musical Initiative has chosen In a Sunshine State as this year's selection. Writers T.C. Lind, Derek Gregor, and Phoebe Kreutz will join with director Stephen Brotebeck, music director Robert Meffe and the SDSU MFA Musical Theatre cohort for a two-year development process and world premiere in the spring of 2024.

​​​​​​​Pioneer Theatre Company’s ELF THE MUSICAL (returning in a new professional production after its 2013 bow) is a fun holiday outing.  Directed by Sesame Street’s Alan Muraoka, it brings out the inner child in the characters, actors, and audience alike.

The Utah Shakespeare Festival will present a world premiere production of Gold Mountain, the original musical by Jason Ma, this coming November. Alan Muraoka is slated to direct, having been at the helm for multiple workshops, presentations, and concert versions of the piece since 2015.

Jake Bazel, renowned puppeteer from Sesame Street (HBO/PBS) and a writer on Disney's Winnie the Pooh: The New Stage Adaptation (Disney Theatrical), has launched a NEW interactive musical, Duncan the Skunk and the Big Costume Trunk, exclusively on Hellosaurus!  Hellosaurus, named 'Mister Rogers for the iPhone Generation,' is a mobile learning app for kids featuring interactive stories guided by experts where kids can be the co-star for a truly immersive experience.

Festival events will take place throughout the day and evenings that weekend and will feature staged readings, talkbacks, celebrity Q&A's, special VIP events, parties and more.  All ITW events will happen on the bucolic Forestburgh Playhouse campus in Sullivan County.

Tonight she gave a repeat performance of that award-winning show at The Green Room 42. She hadn't finished the first number before it became clear why her show won awards. Not only is Elizabeth Ward Land a compelling actress and singer, her show is well structured, well written, well directed, and impeccably performed. She uses the facts of Linda Ronstadt's Life, a young girl who leaves her home and family in Tuscon for an uncertain future in music, to tell the story of Elizabeth Ward Land, a young girl who leaves her home and family in Denver for an uncertain future in theatre. They have much in common.

Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Adam Gwon in concert on Saturday, August 28th, 2021 at 9:45pm. Oh, friends: it's been a year.

The all-Asian American cast includes Cindy Cheung (13 Reasons Why), Karl Josef Co (Pacific Overtures), Ali Ewoldt (The Phantom of the Opera), Diane Phelan (School of Rock), and Thom Sesma (Sweeney Todd). Steven Cuevas (Once On This Island) serves as music director.

CollaborAzian's production of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder premiered last week on Broadway On Demand to wide success. The all-Asian American production of the Tony Award winning musical set to benefit the work of Stop AAPI Hate and has raised over $25,000 to date.
