Mila Jam, the transgender singer, songwriter, dancer, actor and LGBTQ activist, joins the cast of  I Put a Spell on You: The Sanderson Variant, Jay Armstrong Johnson’s annual love letter to the cult-classic film Hocus Pocus.

A bewitchingly cinematic extravaganza awaits when I Put a Spell on You, the annual sold-out Halloween concert-meets-party, streams online beginning at 8 pm Eastern on Thursday, October 28, 2021. The virtual Halloween blowout, is this year dubbed “The Sanderson Variant'.

New City Music Theatre, formerly Cleveland Musical Theatre, held the first production under its new name and reinvigorated mission on Thursday, August 26 when it presented Jason Robert Brown’s seminal work Songs for a New World. Reimagined through a contemporary storytelling lens and performed by an expanded, star-studded cast including Liz Calloway, Jason Gotay, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Mary Kate Morrissey, and Ximone Rose, among others, at Radial Park at Halletts Point in Queens.

New City Music Theatre will welcome celebrated singer and Tony nominee Liz Callaway to the cast of their one-night only production of Songs for a New World. Callaway joins a host of Broadway and rising stars for the exclusive event at Radial Park at Halletts Point in Astoria, Queens on Thursday, August 26 at 7:30pm.

On Saturday, August 14th, BLACK BROADWAY MEN united in Harlem, New York to celebrate the one-year anniversary existence of the nonprofit organization.

Last seen in the title role of Aladdin, Telly Leung (he/him) lends his talents to “The World Was Dancing” for the evening. Another Aladdin alum, Michael James Scott (he/him) will take on the soaring, penultimate number “Flying Home” before returning to the New Amsterdam this fall. Following her recent turn in the Broadway company of Wicked, Tony nominee Nancy Opel (she/her) will show off her comedic chops in “Just One Step,” while Bre Jackson (The Color Purple, The Book of Mormon; she/her) gives voice to “The Flagmaker, 1775.”

Guests at the Majestic Theatre last night know that the show must go on! Theater director Sammi Cannold, Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dori Berinstein, WYSIWYG Studios, CEO Kwan-Woo Park and Elizabeth Armstrong, just premiered their new documentary film, The Show Must Go On. The film was presented in front of a live audience at the home of The Phantom of the Opera, the longest running show in Broadway history, to benefit and celebrate the work of The Actors Fund.

Songs for a New World is set to receive a New York production that reimagines each song to speak directly to our current cultural climate. As its premiere production following a rebranding, renaming, and relocation, New City Music Theatre—formerly Cleveland Musical Theatre—celebrates its new home in New York City by paying tribute to the thriving communities who have seen and been through it all in the last year and a half.

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts announced today that Jason Robert Brown, Savion Glover, Priscilla López, Susan Stroman, Marisha Wallace, and Christopher Wheeldon have joined the growing list of Broadway stars participating in I'm Still Here: A Virtual Benefit for the Billy Rose Theatre Division, airing June 23, 2021 on Broadway On Demand at 8pm EST and 8pm PST. The fundraiser will help raise critical funds for the Library for the Performing Arts' beloved Theatre Division as it celebrates its 90th anniversary this year.

Radial Park opened its latest cinemersive experience last night with the iconic, blockbuster, fan-favorite film, The Blues Brothers! The Blues Brothers, features a live band and theatrical performances seamless timed in-sync with the movie in a one-of-a-kind hybrid mashup. The Blues Brothers, is directed by Kristine Bendul and Waldemar QuinonesVillanueva, and features a cast that includes Broadway's Charity Angel Dawson, Nick Rashad Burroughs, F. Michael Haynie, Brian Charles Johnson, and Antoine L. Smith, along with Ladonna Burns and Anne Fraser Thomas.

I'm Still Here, a new virtual benefit for The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Billy Rose Theatre Division, will stream on Broadway On Demand on June 23. The evening is a celebration of the division's 90th Anniversary, and the 50th  Anniversary of its beloved Theatre on Film and Tape Archive and will honor Harold Prince and George C. Wolfe.

This Thursday evening, Tony & Emmy Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon will join the nonprofit organization Black Broadway Men for an exclusive and thrilling conversation discussing his inspirations, trials, triumphs and his deep philanthropic call to the culture using his art and talent.

To mark the one-year closure of Broadway due to Covid, singer Seth Sikes has collaborated with director David Cromer and Choreographer Eamon Foley to release his latest music video. Home is a love letter to the theater. The tune was written by Charles Strouse with lyrics by Susan Birkenhead for the musical Minsky’s. 

American Dance Machine for the 21st Century has released its next virtual video, “Cool” from West Side Story, performed by 10 extraordinary dancers around New York City. “Cool” was directed by Tony Award nominee Joshua Bergasse, with choreography by Jerome Robbins recreated by Robert La Fosse.
