Manchester International Festival (MIF), returns with a vibrant programme of original new work from across the spectrum of visual and performing arts and music by artists from over 20 countries.

In the coming days and weeks prior to release day, Big Red Machine will be sharing a selection of tracks from How Long Do You Think It’s Gonna Last?, beginning today with “Latter Days,” the first single and album opener.

Unfolding over 18 days both indoors and outdoors, both in three dimensions and online, MIF21 wasn't about to let a pandemic stand in the way of its pioneering vision, as McGrath himself explains below.

Manchester International Festival (MIF), the world's first festival of original, new work and special events, today unveils its 2021 programme, which will take place across 18 days (1-18 July 2021). 

Balmorhea, pronounced ‘Bal-more-ray’ and named for a small town in western Texas, began life in 2006 when Lowe and Muller met and made music at a summer camp in the remote Texas Hill Country.

The Everyman and Islander are launching the second in the series of their live streamed monthly Friday night sessions, ‘Behind the Curtain’ - welcoming audiences behind the curtains of Cork city’s heartlands of music.  

This show marks the first band performance since the conclusion of a worldwide tour in January 2019, which culminated in a sold-out four night run at London’s Brixton Academy.

Joining this year’s virtual version of the Sundance Film Festival, The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) adds Mikel Jollett (Airborne Toxic Event), Pedrito Martinez, Hailey Whitters, Ron and Russell Mael (SPARKS) and The Sparks Brothers director Edgar Wright to the lineup.
