Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces a star-studded cast for this year's 2022 TRUSpeak: Hear Our Voices!, a virtual gala scheduled for Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm. Presented with generous sponsorship from R.K. Greene and The Storyline Project, Patrick Blake of Rhymes Over Beats, Merrie L. Davis of Next Act 2 Follow, Neal Rubinstein/Dangerous,   Judith Estrine of Prism Stage Company, Stephanie Rosenberg/Financial Advisor at Wells Fargo Advisors and Judith Manocherian LLC, this is an evening to raise awareness of current social issues, as well as awareness of the work TRU has been doing for the theater community for over 28 years. This year's featured playwrights are Cherry Lou Sy (Nominee, Cherry Lane Mentor Project), Garrett David Kim (Finalist, Blue Ink Playwriting Award), and Ray Yamanouchi (Semi-Finalist, IMPACT-O'Neill National Playwrights Conference).

Mike and Will have just graduated from high school and couldn't be more different: Mike is an athlete, headed off to college in the fall. Will is a quiet boy who doesn't know where he's headed next. But when they start to get to know each other that summer, everything changes for both of them. Based on the album of the same name by Matthew Sweet, Girlfriend captures the thrill of first love-and how we discover each other and ourselves through the mixtapes we make.

Charles Busch Steps In As Honorary Festival Playwright For 2018 Festival

Samuel French announces that award-winning playwright and cabaret artist Charles Busch (The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Psycho Beach Party, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom) has happily stepped in for the previously announced Lauren Yee (The King of the Yees, The Great Leap, The Hatmaker's Wife) who had to recuse herself due to a scheduling conflict.
