The Writer in Residence programme is part of the Bush Theatre's commitment to celebrating legacy and providing opportunities for writers at every level of their career. Following Trish Cooke's inaugural residency, which was followed last year by Vinay Patel, Tanika Gupta will support the Bush Theatre's literary and programming teams in 2023 by mentoring emerging artists, as well as writing a full-length play during her residency. 

The cast includes Elise Zavou as Red, Maisey Bawden as Mum, Phil Nichol as Granny, Jodie Jacobs as Woody, Ashley Goh as Bo Peep, Raphael Bushay as Wolf and Luke Latchman as Wolfie.

Theatre Royal Stratford East is delighted to announce the full cast for this year's panto, Sleeping Beauty. The cast includes Krystal Dockery as Fairy Stardust, Joshua Elliott as King Percy, Alice Frankham as Crow/Fairy Borealis/Mirror Antoinette, Josephine Melville as Mauditious Le Vicious, Ericka Posadas as Scarlett, Shaun Prendergast as Queen Pearl and Anthony Rickman as Forrest/Fairy Nightfall.

Theatre Royal Stratford East today announces the live-streaming of their acclaimed pantomime Rapunzel to children at Newham University Hospital, St Francis Hospice and Richard House Children's Hospice on 28 December at 2pm. Using the latest digital technology, the theatre will share this year's seasonal treat, Rapunzel written by Trish Cooke and Robert Hyman and directed by Associate Director of Theatre Royal Stratford East, Pooja Ghai. This special project has been made possible thanks to generous support from Galliard Homes and follows the success of last year's production of Sinbad the Sailor which was live-streamed to Newham University Hospital and Richard House Children's Hospice.

Artistic Directors of the Future (ADF) present Black Lives, Black Words, a presentation of eight fifteen-minute play readings from eight black British playwrights in the city of London. This play series is tied in with a shared project initiated by the award -winning American playwright Reginald Edmund, who produced the USA premiere in Chicago in July 2015. Black Lives, Black Words aims to explore the black diaspora experiences in some of the largest multicultural cities in the world, Chicago, Minneapolis, Cleveland, Baltimore and London to investigate the question 'Do black lives matter today?'
