TheaterWorks Hartford is thrilled to present the 2022 edition of its New Work Festival. This free festival, running May 16–22, explores and celebrates new voices in American Theater. With workshops, a panel discussion, and talk-backs—both in-person and online—the New Work Festival strengthens TheaterWorks Hartford’s commitment to the development of important new plays. Participants include playwrights Brooke Berman, Melissa Crespo & Sarah Saltwick, Terry Guest, and James Anthony Tyler who are joined by directors Shariffa Ali, Michael Barakiva, Mikael Burke, and Caitlin Sullivan. Reservations are required and can be made at www.twhartford.org.

The Omaha Community Playhouse has announced that Stephen Santa will be joining the organization as the new artistic director beginning on November 1, 2021. Susan Baer Collins, former OCP associate artistic director, has been acting as interim artistic director since January. Collins will work with Santa during the transition.

Theatre Aspen will present its second annual one-person show festival, Solo Flights, as the third act of this year’s 38th summer season, launching next Wednesday, August 25 and running through Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the Hurst Theatre in Aspen, Colorado.Â

Tracy Brigden and Mike DelGaudio have announced the creation of their audio experiences company Roaring Box. The company will produce audio content such as fiction and non-fiction podcasts, audio books and radio plays, joining forces with Mr. DelGaudio's voiceover, YouTube and coaching business, Booth Junkie.

Point Park University's Pittsburgh Playhouse plans to continue to offer one-of-a-kind virtual productions this coming spring with the continuation of Here. Now. Next!, building on the wildly inventive body of productions this fall. The show will have its world premiere production at a time to be determined at Plays & Players Theatre in Center City, Philadelphia.

In today's world of a?oefake newsa?? and challenges to journalistic integrity, it is becoming increasingly difficult to tell fact from fiction. Add in the desire to both entertain and inform readers (and sell publications) and it can be easy to see how, today, trust may be harder than ever to find in the printed word. But who defines what exactly constitutes a fact, and when, if ever, is it ok to bend the truth in service of telling an important story? These are some of the questions explored in THE LIFESPAN OF A FACT, a play by Jeremey Kareken, David Murrell and Gordon Farrell now playing at TheaterWorks in Hartford.
