Review: SPAMALOT at Golden Gate
by Steve Murray - Mar 6, 2026
For every lover of Ibsen, Arthur Miller and Stephen Sondheim, there’s a lover of The Three Stooges, Abbott & Costello and of course, Monty Python. Back in the 1970’s Monty Python’s Flying circus was a sensation with their irreverent and risqué observational comedy. If you couldn’t recite the week’s show the next day, you were ‘square.’

Review: SUMMER CABARET SERIES: CELEBRATING TOM JONES WITH DAVID BURNHAM at CVRep
by Kay Kudukis - Jul 24, 2025
When I was a kid, I’d come home after school, immediately turn on the tv and watch Sally Starr (the blondest, ponytailed cowgirl in the tristate area) introduce cartoons and episodes of The Three Stooges (not a fan, I’d go get a snack). And then in 1966 Dark Shadows premiered at 4pm on channel 7 and it was “Sally who?” until April 2, 1971 when ABC thrust a stake through its time slot.

Review: THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED) at UD Rep Ensemble
by Greer Firestone - Sep 25, 2024
Aisle Say began reviewing UD REP - Resident Ensemble Players – in a campus gym, long before the capacious and elegant Roselle Center for the Arts became a reality. I was always struck with their overarching quality of both acting and tech. In many reviews called them the pre-eminent acting company in the region. REP is entering its 15th year, with many of the original actors still plying their craft.

Review: Lyric Stage Company's THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is an Irresistible Delight
by R. Scott Reedy - Apr 22, 2024
Under Larry Sousa’s wonderfully imaginative direction and with his choreography, a 16-person company of some of Boston’s brightest, most versatile performers is bringing the Canadian musical, with music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Gregg Morrison and book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar, to dazzling life with delightfully silly production numbers aplenty and a well-served soupçon of heart-tugging emotion.
