Wet Ink Ensemble Announces 2019-2020 Season Concerts

The 'sublimely exploratory” Wet Ink Ensemble opens its 21st season in 2019-2020 with two performances at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival followed by a performance of the works of Columbia University undergraduate composers in NYC and a collaboration with vocalist Charmaine Lee and UK-based composers Kristina Wolfe, Bryn Harrison, and Pierre Alexandre Tremblay. The Wet Ink Ensemble is also thrilled to announce the official appointment of frequent collaborator, cellist Mariel Roberts, to the group beginning in the 2019-2020 season.

Rose Theatre Kingston today announces a week-long New Writing Festival to take place from 9a?'13 September. The festival will feature rehearsed readings of three new plays selected following an open submission, which will be developed and directed by the inaugural Peter Hall Emerging Artists Fellow Fay Lomas. Lomas later this season will be directing Suzy Gill's Out of the Dark at Rose Theatre Kingston. The festival will also feature arts engagement workshops for young people focused on new writing.

BAAD's TransVisonaries Performance Series Kicks Off June 25

For 20 years, BAAD! The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance, has presented works that are empowering to women, people of color and LGBTQ people. The organization continues its newest program the TransVisionaries Performance Series, a first-ever, Bronx live performance series featuring transgender and GNC (gender non-conforming artists) in free, open to the public performances in South Bronx restaurants that are turned into one-night art centers. The series began in 2017 and ran through the summer of 2018.

Fay Lomas, winner of the 2019 Peter Hall Emerging Artist Fellowship, an annual award introduced to commemorate the legacy of Sir Peter Hall, directs. Out of the Dark opens at the Rose Studio on Wednesday 30 October and runs until Saturday 2 November 2019.
