The Metropolitan Opera’s 2023 Summer HD Festival, an annual New York pastime, returns to Lincoln Center Plaza Saturday, August 26 through Monday, September 4.

American soprano Angela Meade will sing the title role of Bellini’s Norma for the performance on Friday, March 17, replacing Sonya Yoncheva.

You’ve got to admit that the Met had a lot of guts to dedicate this season’s performances of Vincenzo Bellini’s NORMA (libretto by Felice Romani) to the memory of Maria Callas on the 100th anniversary of her birth. Hers was simply one of the most legendary portrayals of the role, by a fabled singer. Period. But Yoncheva--and her costars--pulled off the performance with aplomb and made the Met audience very happy indeed.

After her highly acclaimed performances as Fedora earlier this month, soprano Sonya Yoncheva will return on February 28 for her Met role debut as the fearless title priestess of Bellini’s scorching bel canto drama Norma. 

Giordano's exhilarating drama Fedora returns to the Met Opera's repertory for the first time in 25 years, with an encore screening at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 12:30pm.

Following its Met premiere on New Year's Eve, David McVicar's critically acclaimed new production of Giordano's Fedora, starring soprano Sonya Yoncheva and tenor Piotr Beczała, is broadcast live to selected cinemas across the UK on Saturday 14th January, at 5.55pm GMT, as part of The Met: Live in HD series. 

The Met's 2022–23 season of live movie theater transmissions continues at The Ridgefield Playhouse. The first screening of 2023 is an Encore in HD presentation of Umberto Giordano's Fedora on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 12:30pm as part of the FirstLight Home Care Classical Series, underwritten by Liz & Steven Goldstone, and Sabina Slavin, with support from Whistle Stop Bakery.

The Metropolitan Opera has announced the launch of The Met: Live at Home, a streaming platform that allows audiences to watch the Met’s acclaimed series of live simulcasts from any device in the comfort of their homes—the latest effort by the company to reach as broad a public as possible.

The Met: Live in HD, the Metropolitan Opera's award-winning series of live high-definition cinema broadcasts, distributed in the UK by Trafalgar Releasing, will begin its 16th season this October with a live broadcast of Cherubini's rarely performed Medea.  From October 2022 – June 2023, ten incredible performances will be broadcast live from the Met stage in New York to cinemas worldwide.
