BIO
Richard Bulda is a multi faceted performer from San Diego Ca. He started dancing at University of California San Diego and started his musical theater journey with Starlight Musical Theater in San Diego. He earned a B.F.A. in Musical Theater at United States International University in 1992.
His history includes working with California Ballet, San Juaquin Ballet, various dance companies in San Diego, Los Angeles Opera, San Diego Opera, Houston and Dallas Operas, Arizona Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, La Mirada McCoy-Rigby, Musical Theater West, The Old Globe, La Jolla Playhouse, TV's General Hospital and Disney Plus' Encore with Kristen Bell.
His designer credits include assistant choreographer to Ken von Heideke and Tony award winner Peggy Hickey. He has assisted with productions such as Aida, Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow, Big Fish, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, Falstaff, and Catch Me If You Can.
He is a trained artist in ballet, jazz, modern, tap, singing and acting.

Despite my well-earned affection for the Tony-winning 1998 Roundabout Theatre Company production of the classic Kander and Ebb Broadway classic CABARET, I still found myself vigorously entertained by McCoy Rigby Entertainment's flashy and buoyant new 2018 regional production of this theatrical staple, under the solid direction of Larry Carpenter and featuring spectacular musical performances from its lead cast. This deliciously bawdy but at times sneakily ominous musical continues performances at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts through February 11, 2018.

It's no surprise that a palpable, uproarious reception greeted the opening night performance of EMPIRE - THE MUSICAL, a brand new stage show featuring book, music, and lyrics by Caroline Sherman and Robert Hull---currently having its 'out-of-town' premiere at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts through February 14, 2016. Directed and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge (RAGTIME), this ambitious new original musical---advertised with declared aspirations for an eventual engagement on Broadway---fashions an early 20th Century era, multi-character narrative about the construction of one of the world's most iconic skyscrapers: the Empire State Building in New York City. The good news? It's exceedingly entertaining. The not-so-good news? It's a show with lots of potential but needs a lot more tinkering and refining.
