The Broadway Babies self-titled debut album is a follow up to their live stage show that debuted at The Garry Marshall Theatre last Fall! With music and lyrics written by long-time collaborators Nicole Mangi and Leah Sprecher and produced by Daniel Weidlein of BioSoul music, the album (and show) was born out of a desire to help kids build connections through music, pursue their dreams, and gain confidence in their own unique voices!

Everything's coming up roses this week because the original production of the legendary musical GYPSY is celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of its opening night! To celebrate, we're looking back at the opening night of Broadway's most recent revival in 2008 starring Patti LuPone in the iconic role of Mama Rose. Two mainstage shows gone.  Even with weeks of fully well lived days, if I blink my eye then the summer will be completely over.  This really occurred to me this past weekend when the curtain came down on our Fantastical Family Night Concert.  That event not only marked the end of our second (out of four) scheduled Broadway Under the Stars concert series, but it also was the end of a very special week working with over 50 students at our Transcendence Kid's Camp.  Major kudos go out to all of the performers hired on the Fantastical Family Night contract.  These performers do the most work in the shortest amount of time in the season.  But honestly, I think it's also the most rewarding show too.  

Transcendence Theatre Company, producer of the Broadway Under the Stars in Jack London State Historic Park concert series, announced the company of artists who will appear during the 2015 series of shows running June 19 through September 13. From June through September on select weekends, visitors to Sonoma County can conclude a day of wine tasting by attending Broadway Under the Stars, the main stage musical concert series presented by Transcendence Theatre Company in the open-air Winery Ruins of Jack London State Historic Park.

Since 2009, Broadway South Africa has conducted empowerment through the arts programming in disadvantaged communities throughout South Africa. The organization has raised close to $500,000, helping to improve the lives and future's of student's dramatically affected by poverty, violence, abuse, and HIV/AIDS.

Gypsy is now playing in Signature's MAX Theatre. The production runs through January 26, 2014. Directed by Signature Artistic Associate Joe Calarco (Shakespeare's R&J, God of Carnage, Urinetown), Gypsy stars Sherri L. Edelen (The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Company, Hairspray) as the iconic Momma Rose, in one of the most beloved musicals of all time.
