Ford's Theatre Director Paul R. Tetreault announced that acclaimed Washington actor Craig Wallace will return to Ford's to perform the role of Ebenezer Scrooge for the company's holiday production of A Christmas Carol. Performances of the classic Charles Dickens story begin November 15 and continue for a six-and-a-half-week engagement through December 30, 2018. This "musically high-spirited" and "infectiously jolly" (The Washington Post) production is adapted by Michael Wilson and directed by Michael Baron.

Ford's Theatre Society announced that the company of the 2018 production of "A Christmas Carol" has selected D.C.'s Homeless Children's Playtime Project as recipient of this year's donation drive inspired by the themes of charity in Dickens's holiday classic. The Homeless Children's Playtime Project partners with homeless shelters in Washington, D.C., to create safe and fun play spaces for the children where they live. Their trauma-informed programs help restore normalcy by providing opportunities for children to learn and heal through play, and empower children to make choices, express themselves, build friendships and find support.

Balderston with direction by Lili-Anne Brown, musical direction by Andra Velis Simon and starring Sharriese Hamilton and Karl Hamilton. Porchlight Revisits On a Clear Day You Can See Forever is presented for three-nights-only Tuesday, May 9 through Thursday, May 11 at 7:15 p.m. and is performed on the set of Porchlight's Marry Me a Little (previews begin Friday, April 14) at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. Tickets are $35. All tickets include access to the popular pre-performance event, Behind the Show Backstory, a multimedia presentation, created and hosted by Weber that discusses that evening's production including the show's creative history, backstage gossip and the state of the art on Broadway that season. The 2018 McCammon Voice Competition judges have chosen the semi-finalists for the eighteenth biennial competition, to be held on March 16, 2018 at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Ford's Theatre Society announced that it set revenue and attendance records with its 2016-2017 theatrical season, which included the musicals Come From Away and Ragtime, productions of A Christmas Carol and Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and the one-act play One Destiny. More than 153,000 patrons attended performances, and ticket sales brought in more than $6 million, making 2016-2017 the highest attended and highest grossing theatrical season in Ford's Theatre history.
