Birmingham Hippodrome has announced a line-up of new productions including brand-new festive family musical The Jingleclaw, the first new musical to be produced by the Hippodrome. A stellar line up of West End and Broadway smash-hit musicals including & Juliet, Chitty Chitty Bang and Only Fools and Horses – The Musical will also come to the theatre in 2025.

This Summer Paines Plough's portable pop-up theatre venue Roundabout will return to  Summerhall at Edinburgh Festival Fringe. During the month of August, the award-winning, in-the-round auditorium will host two new co-productions from Paines Plough alongside a programme of visiting artists presenting theatre, cabaret, comedy and more from 2 - 27 August.

All new rehearsal photos have been released from the upcoming production of As You Like It @sohoplace which begins performances on 6th December, officially opening on 14th November.

The debut play by Nathan Queeley-Dennis has won overall 2022 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting. The Birmingham-born actor takes home £16k prize for first play Bullring Techno Makeout Jamz, ‘a joyful galloping hymn to Black friendship and love and tender masculinity’.

Full casting is announced for William Shakespeare’s As You Like It, directed by Josie Rourke, with a musical score by Michael Bruce, @sohoplace, the first new build West End theatre to open in 50 years.

Paines Plough have announced a limited digital release for their family show REALLY BIG AND REALLY LOUD, written by Phoebe Eclair-Powell and directed by Paines Plough’s Joint Artistic Director Katie Posner. After touring the UK as part of Paines Plough's 2021 Roundabout season to critical acclaim, the production will now be available to watch online from the comfort of your home this Easter.

There is a sense of anticipation in the air as we take our seats for Black Love, which comes to the Kiln for a strictly limited run this month. As Aurora (Nicholle Cherrie) slinks into the stage set of white boxes, surrounded on all sides by the audience, she brings with her a stylised version of which 'black love' might be.

Kiln Theatre's Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham announces the full company for Chinonyerem Odimba's Black Love. Black Love launches the theatre's 2022 season, transforming the venue into the round. With Book and Lyrics by Chinonyerem Odimba, Music by Ben and Max Ringham, the production opens on 1 April with previews from 28 March and runs until 23 April, following a successful tour as part of Paines Plough's Roundabout season last year.

The Orange Tree Theatre today announces full cast for brand new play Pinocchio created and directed by OT Community Director Liam Shea for the festive season. Fiona Drummond (Mum/The Blue Fairy/Other beasts) joins Nathan Queeley-Dennis (Hugo/Pinocchio/Other beasts) in a fun, interactive adventure, for anyone aged 3 to 103 (babies welcome!), which awakens the imagination about the adventures we can have when we pretend.

For 10 days at the end of the summer, the award-winning, in-the-round auditorium will be filled with four world premiere plays performed in rep alongside cabaret, comedy, family shows, drag, a host of activities for young people in partnership with Lambeth ELEVATE and a programme of community events.

The Belgrade Theatre has announced that Paines’s Plough’s ROUNDABOUT season 2021 will open in Wood End in Coventry this week, with four world premieres taking place in Paines Plough’s award-winning, portable, in-the-round auditorium, situated in the grounds of the Moat House Leisure and Neighbourhood Centre in Wood End.

The line-up of four world premieres includes a new musical by Chinonyerem Odimba - BLACK LOVE, in rep with Chris Bush's new play HUNGRY, and Phoebe Eclair-Powell's new family show REALLY BIG AND REALLY LOUD.

Bijan Sheibani's (Barber Shop Chronicles, The Arrival) production of A Taste of Honey returns to the West End for the first time in 60 years this week, opening on Thursday at Trafalgar Studios. The remarkable taboo-breaking 1950s play written by Shelagh Delaney when she was just 19 will play a limited 12-week run in a co-production with Trafalgar Theatre Productions, with a press night on Monday 9 December.
